Has any one ran a mamba without going lipo. I'm thinking about trying this because i dont want to spend alot on bateries but i still want wheelie poping performance. Has anyone tried running the LRP motors i was thinkin about going with this option but do i have to get a new speed controll like a novak. Thanks for your time. Bryson

Yeah the mamba will definitely add speed without going lipo. On my mini lst it jumped it up to around 30+ ph just adding the mamba without the lipo. But if you want insane speed then you go lipo. I was running the mamba comp x package on my mini t my mini lst and my 18t. It will improve speed by alot but like I said if you want insane speed then you will want to go lipo.

Hey Big Dan when you put one in your 18t did you have to get a new steering servo. And did you get the one with the computer programing I'm worried that it will be a pain in the ass. Thanks for your time Bryson.

yes and yes. But putting the motor in doesn't need the computer programming unless you want to change the stock setup, which is pretty good out of the box. It's when you go to lipo that you want to change things in the esc.

If you're going to run a motor that is hotter than stock, go ahead and upgrade the ESC. When I upgraded to a Reedy SP-19 motor in my 18t, it fried the stock ESC. I was going to replace the fried ESC with a stocker but ended buying a Novack SPY ESC and have never looked back.

i ran my 18t, and mini t on 6 cells with a mamba comp x pack and loved it. It was a good compromise with speed and control. I ran a micro rs4 on carpet on 6 cells and a larger pinion and it was lightning fast. I used a novax xxl reciever and changed my servo to the hs 55. Worked great.

Ya i put all this bling on my rc18 and now its on the back burrner. I curently can't afford a mamba nor motor with esc. My current reedy and 3 batteries are fried after too much use so i just said screw it. Its not going anywhere. Someday ill get it going.
