I have a Chameleon 2 pro in a Evader S/T and i installed new brushes in the motor cleaned it all out , but it would run great for 30 sec then slow way the hell down( motor kind a hot) i let it cool down then same thing 30 sec then slow down. New brushes, stock gearing I dunno what's wrong.

Thank you to all of you that help.

did you cut the comm?? that would most likely cause a problem what about shims is it shimmed correctly ??

Did it run fine before you changed the brushes ? What is your battery/ESC setup ? Improper gearing can also heat up a motor.

It ran poorly before i changed the brushes, i have never taken it apart so it shouldnt be a shim problem. I'm runnin with stock gearing and a novak fusion dual-profile esc. hpiracer might be right i have never cutt the comm. but i clean the comm with a comm stick all the time.

it sound like your motor is blown (wore out) how old is the motor? did you put com drops on the motor?

Did you lube the front and rear bearings after you cleaned the motor? If not then you are running dry bearings. Also make sure the gear mesh isn't too tight. Both of those will put extra strain on the motor also.

Did you try a simple test of running the motor with no load at the same voltage for the same amount of time.Is the motor hot? Does it turn free(any abnormal noise),bearings running free? comm in good shape? brushes properly installed and seated? magnets sitting firm in the can?

Did you take apart the motor for inspection? No discolored wires visible?

If all is fine then a proper mesh and a fee running gearbox and moving parts you should be fine.Gearing too tall maybe?
