hey,if i take my slash threw mud and say it gets full of mud/water what do i do to ensure i dont destroy it,thanks:\

Clean out the can (motor) with electric motor cleaner (spray it onto the motor till you get the gunk out) then lube the bell end with a little 3-n-1 oil or the like.

My buddy and I found some foaming car interior/computer case cleaners that works wickedly well for getting the crap out of motors. You still have to use a good motor lube afterwards, possibly after a dose of WD, but man they lift the crap out so well.

Actually the bell end (or end bell) is the end where the shaft exits the motor and is supported by a "bell" containing the bearing. This is what you need to lube.

Endbell: The part of the motor that consists of the brush hoods and the tabs. The endbell holds the bearing that supports the short end of the shaft.

There is a bearing in the center of the endbell that needs to be lubed. This is the short end of the shaft. Also lube the long end where is exits the end of the can.
