I'm wanting to up grade my wraith with a new motor, I have the Titan 21t reverse rotation in it now, running 2s. A friend of mine is running the mumba max pro with a tekin pro 4. This set up is some serious coin that I don't want to spend. If I run 3s I know it will have more power, but I would like more than that. I run a lot of trail stuff a real mix of obstacles. I know that I will.have to upgrade to mip drive shafts and other things going brushless.

Oh ya his tekin is a 3400kv. I have a castle 4600kv but he says it will cog at low speeds.

Best question to start is, what are you wanting? Speed or better/smoother crawling? 3s will make a big difference in both low speed torque as well as more top speed.

Sng I.was think.better crawling with power in reserve when needed. I do a lot of endurance scale events, the last one was 1.5 miles, I'm doing one this next weekend that is. 6 of a mile and its on a mountain side. So power is good to have. I was just wondering how much more if I just go to 3s will. I know just buy a 3s and see. I research and ask opinions before doing anything. Its a fault of mine

Just wondering what set up that wont cog when going slow, but still give me plenty of power wheel speed when needed, and plenty of torque.

I think that tekin setup your buddy is running is the most popular brushless setup for tq and wheel speed. I've not seen many others that people have had much success with. Alot of money but might be worth it.

Thanks Sng, guess ill have to save my pennies. How do you post a pic via cell phone?

Ok I got some 3s's and its better.
A friend of mine wants to know the best option, he also has a wraith but it has a 2spd in it. He said that he would try the novak goat.
Ok now I have a just bought. Mmp what motor other than the tekin pro 4 what other options. Want crawl ability and wheel speed.

If you are trying to not have the cogging problem you will want a sensored brushless motor which is what the Tekin motor is, that coupled with the 3s lipo should be a good set up for both torque and speed, you could go to a little higher KV motor and then gear down a little so you will still have the torque but maybe a little more speed you are looking for.

I do scale endurance events so I need the best of both worlds, crawling and trail. Is there any other options that arnt as spendy as the tekin?

Ok made up my mind. I'm going with a tekin pro 4 3300kv. My lhs is going to do a deal with the motor and mip drive shafts, metal gears for the trans ect. So ill find out Tuesday what the damage is going to be. I'm thinking a little over 300 for everything. Motor esc and parts. Thanks guys.

It will be alot more expensive than 300, the motor alone is 160

Ok for the tekin pro4 $150, mmp$100. That's $250. For the mip's, metal gears for the trans, universals, for a grand total $120. So that's $370. I would say that's not to bad. All parts were new.
