motor for rustler

does anyone know what would be a good motor that is not a lot faster than stock i wont to put it togther for my 9 year old son but dont want it too fast thanks tim

umm dude have you driven a stock rustler? there already to fast.. i seriouly DO NOT think you need anything above a TRX2.5 for a 9 year old.. it already does 50+ mph out the box and can't keep the front wheels on the ground, i acculy recommend you puting a TRX .15 on it to tone it down for him,.. but i have a rustler with a TRX2.5 thats is brand new in the box with only 2 tanks on it, its not even fully broke in, if interested pm me ill shoot you pics and a price

The Stock 20T Rustler Motor is pretty slow, at least the one I got, but it will do probably 30mph. Not sure how fast you're shooting for.....

vxl kit put it in trainer mode then once he is use to it and can drive good take it out of trainer mode and it will be planty fast

i have a rustler with a 5700kv motor an a sindwinder and i turned the epa down on the radio and its really fun at like 60% power then i turn it up to 100% and its crazy fast
