My eletric RC cars runs great, unless I give it full power. When I squeeze to full throttle the motor just cuts out and stops. If I release the throttle and then re-engage it the car will move again, as long as I do not go to full throttle.

Do you guys have any advise on what would be causing this issue. The motor is NOT brushless.

More info please

Type of car.
Type of speed control.
Type of motor, you said it was not brushless.

XTM X-Cellerator Electric 1/10 ST RTR w/ESC. I believe it has a 20 turn motor. I purchased it 2 years ago and it is all stock.

Does that mean the motor is bad and needs to be replaced, or it is a problem that is fixable.

If it's not sealed (but I am sure it is) then you can replace the brushes but then there is the issue of turning the comm. That requires either a comm lathe or A LOT of hand work. Like the other guys suggested--20 turn cans are cheap so buy two! Good luck!
