what is a fast, and easy to tune race .21 engine? I have a mugen mbx4 xr works and i need a good motor to go with it b/c it is a race buggy. let me know. I am thinking of the O.S VZB1 or something like that lol. thanks

I like the P5's (Novarossi, Top, Rex) for an all-around good engine. Plenty of power and not to hard to tune.

yeah, i was also thinking of that one, but it is very expensive... ahh i dont get it. these lil engines are alot of money :OMG:

Actually the P5 can be had for the mid 200's, I just got one for $263 delivered. I was waiting for a Rossi Black Magic and finally gave up so I got the P5.

I say if you are just starting out, get an OS http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBZ33&P=0

Its a very easy engine to break in and tune... Decent bottom end power, but top end is a little lacking. Its excellent to get your feet off the ground and to help get all the kinks out of your buggy.

I'm picking up 2 of them as backups, plus we have small track we race on, so bottom end is a must. Its a great deal and not pricey at all.

Hope that helps :)

thank you all.. I've been really looking into the O.S VZB or the RZ. i race on a very brutal track, it has one 60 ft. straight and then table top jumps and quadruples, its pretty tight track. so i need bottom , mid and top end. bottom end the most. but i would like to have top end when I'm just screwing around with the buggy, like bashing , can somebody give me the HP ratings of these engines? also the P5. does anyone have a used one for sale? jw. thanks

HP ratings are useless.

I would suggest going down to your track and talk with the local racers and see what they are running. Watch the fast guys, ask them about their set-ups, tire selection, etc. Although you may think you want the fastest and most powerful engine out there, if you don't have any race experience you will probably turn faster lap times with a less powerful engine. The key is to be smooth and hit your spots on the track. It is harder to do that with an overpowered buggy.
