1 How fast can it go
2 How much was it
3 Can I try
I was just wondering what other people say.

1. faster than ur bike
2. more than what u can put in your pocket
3. i always say to those pesky kids...."give me ur bike and i will let u drive." That usually shuts them up! I'm still waiting on the day when a kid says...OK!!!
:hammer:

Mowin down kids, what a dream.
I have faced facts that kids want to watch so when they do I always have a safe place the can stand and watch usually by me and i have never hit or even come close to hitting them. but I have hit a squirle not on purpose.

I bought a Proline decal sheet, and it had little silhouettes of squirrels on it...very similar to the symbols of warplanes of enemies shot down....you should get some.

I am just joking about the Mowin em Down....I have a 7 year old girl and would never really do that....but it is fun when I blip it at them and watch em scatter like bowling pins during a strike......yeah I have a whole crew of about 12 kids in the neighborhood that seems to get bigger every time I take one out on the street...I think they call their friends over when they hear one firing up....But I go through the questions and smart ass responses every time I play in the street or field.....and I do tell them how dangerous it would be to get hit....my daughter has an electric losi truck that she's hit herself with and she tells all the other kids how much it hurt....I do love the enthusiasm of the kids watching but they need to have respect for certain things....I know a lot of people are against this but I can trust my kid to not play with things that I teach her are dangerous, like guns...I have brought her with me to the outdoor range and shown her what they are capable of. same thing w/ the RC stuff....if we teach the kids about these things instead of making them taboo I think it gives them more of a sense of responsibility.. I think this makes them less likely to experiment w/ something they know nothing about because we've kept it from them and made it seem more like a challenge to them to play w/ whatever it is (RCs, Guns or whatever)..
I know I'll catch a lot of hell for this one but I do keep my firearms safe from her hands....I do think she has a healthier understanding of the world when I de-mystify things like that though..this is the same ideology I use when teaching the little ones about the RC cars....
that's my outlook on life anyway....
love the kids
then when they get older
MOW EM DOWN
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I have the problem with several kids, most just like to watch and have never bugged me with 20 questions but there's three of them that like to stand in the way and run in front of my Revo and my NTC3. I let one of them drive my M18 ONCE and though he didn't damage the car he did bend my antenna on my transmitter in a 180. So I taught them a lesson, they wanted to play in front of the M18 and have me drive between their legs so two of them weren't wearing shoes and I smacked into their feet and ankles every chance I got.

Had a bad problem yesterday. 3 skater punks came to me and dougc while we were running our mini-ts. They were cracking jokes and asking to "olie" them. They shutup and left when dougc brought his savage out.

HAHA
I Am Not a Skater "Punk"....and I could ollie the savage too!
Even at 32 I can still ollie garbage cans
Young til I DIE!!!!!
I'd love to have seen their faces that must have been funny as hell
Hey Vince
you should make nice with them and see if they'll let you go to a skatepark and drive the mini-Ts there.....That gets crazy
I'm trying to get my friends park to let me set up an astro turf like surface on a buch of ramps to let me play w/ my old Losi truck on......no nitro though it messes up the masonite...

I guess I'm semi-fortunate as my skate park is the city's skate park. It's made of concrete... not very forgiving, but still is fun. I don't drive there when there is more than a couple people skating. Not worth the risk of hurting them or messing up my truck.

Right beside the skate park is about an acre or so of land... I'm hoping for a bmx track!

NOW Those kick ass
If it is a sanctioned track then you will have problems w/ nitro there too...there is some rule about fuel on the track and usually they enforce that to the fullest...
Friend of mine gets the keys to the Coral Springs BMX track down here and we play.....I wish all RC tracks could be like those.....much more fun to drive on....the jumps are devastating though when you crash.....

If they do put one it, it will more than likely be like the skate park, city owned. No-one there to say anything to anyone, user discretion only.

I doubt they will though. The skate park and open acre of land has been there for a couple years... but for some reason, they mow and maintain that hunk of land. There really isn't any point to it considering it's in the middle of a corn field on the edge of town, so I'm only guessing that they will do something with it.

Man you would be surprised at how easy it is to get the city to fund something like that....how many people do you know and howmany hobby shops do you know that would get people to sign petitions to fund your RC track.....get some prices from a contractor to provide dirt and a bobcat for a week....then see if you can get I'd say at least 250 signatures to petion the city counsel for it....make up a proposal for the safety issues and make the plea that local kids would have a new recreational activity to get into and all that jazz....I wouldn't say that there's gonna be 30 something year olds drinkin beer and whoopin about how fast that crash was....but if you look into it you would be very surprised at how little effort it takes to get that sort of thing started......I would try and do a pay for itself sort of track and get people to volunteer time to "supervise" the use of it and either sest up a membership fee or per day use of like 4 - 5 bucks....start w/ the cost of set up.....should be able to get a track set-up for around 2500 to 3000 dollars for a nice respectable track....then see what the city is willing to fund and go from there......I got NYC to help fund 2 skateparks while I lived there.....it seems hard when you start going but when it's done you get really stoked on what you did...

Ummm.... yeah... I'm not like you ;)

There isn't a single hobby shop in my city and I know no-one (other than a couple guys that actually live an hour away) that drive RC. I drive an hour just for parts and fuel.

Maybe someone else from dekalb will take you up on your advise and do something. If that happens, email me for a signature or a small donation.

lol
yeah I guess when you live near a cornfield I shuld expect the lack of people into a hobby like this.....
I do get a little into things too much but at least when I die I'll have fewer things to look back on and wish I'd tried...
Food for thought
but I understand the situation
maybe you could build some wood jumps and set em up in the field

WOW I guess my town isn't to bad.We have 2 great hobby shops that sell tons of nitro RC stuff.Plus a Track at one and a good sized BMX track accross town. and it is always open cause no one in my town could jump if their life depended on it

I guess I'm just used to being in heavily populated areas and I take that stuff for granted....I can't count how many hobby shops are within an hour of me.....and at least 4 or 5 tracks within 1/2 hr from me......

Hey Plaidfish I would be interested in talking to you about how to go about getting things in line to talk to the town. There's even a landfill owned by Waste Management that has a RC airfield near me. I thought about buying a chunk of land and doing something myself, wife isn't too hip on the idea though.

Today I got a new Q. a small boy came over and watched for a while then he came over to me and asked if he could ride on it I just laugh.
