Have any of you guys gone out raced around and have had a bunch of little kids come up and stand around and watch.Well I have and they always seem to ask the same questions
1 How fast can it go
2 How much was it
3 Can I try
I was just wondering what other people say.

its around blah blah
it was a bit to much. HA HA
no only i drive it

i normally get asked if its electric... i mean come one people its screams and it has exhaust!

I asked all the same things when I was young and until recently when I picked up the hobby. Just remember what it is like to be young, and or noob. I always tell them how fast it will go and then I tell them why speed isn't always everything, being able to control it is. I tell them how much it was stock and then laugh when I won't tell them how much I spent all-in-all. I tell them they can drive it, all they need to do is go get 10, one hundred dollar bills from their mom/dad for me to hold while they drive it.

Every once in a while a kid tells me their dad has one just like mine, only their dad's is like way faster and bigger. I answer with "it must be nice to be your dad". That usually ends that one. Have fun and always remember where you came from.

I know I have been asked if my Maxx is gas all the time, I mean come on they must be deaf.
Well I answer as many of their questions as I can but it gets old after the 100 time I just remember like you seid I was a noob to

Oh, OK.... I thought you meant questions like...

"and... How old are you ? "
or
"When are you going to grow up... "
or
"Where is my cupcake tin ?"

lol....

I have been really patient with the kids that have been asking me when I am asked about my buggies or my TMAXX and THEN MGT. I always tell them that driving it is not about going so fast all the time but much the knowledge you get from it. I tell them the same thing BLAZER says and they all laugh. I have pulled like three people into the hobby locally and they all come to me for help. It is cool as I wish there was someone for me when I was learning about RC;s and NITRO. I found this place and have been happy. Just have to be patient to the kids like you would be here to a Noob.

The more the merrier I say.

I get asked the same questions. The one thing that gets me is when I do answer the approximate speed, they always have a friend, family member or know of someone that has a car that will hit 80MPH. That's when I ask them how they knew it was going that fast.

LOL that's how I always get em too.....
I've got the local kid crew that comes out to watch me go at it with the bumps in the field...I get one of keeps tryin to race me with his go cart.....that's a joke.....I ended up selling 2 of the kids parents T-maxxes and the one w/ no money to spend on it is the best one at taking care of his...the other one that gets a new toy every other week treats his like crap and his old man used to come over and try to tell him I sold him a pile of poop that doesn't run.....I point out that he got the best one I had and that jonathan got the busted up one and he runs w/ me all the time......I went through a few bout's of that argument w/ him until he finally realized he's just not willing to learn anything about NITRO RC.....I break down and help him get it running every now and then when All the kids come out to play in the field......we have a blast romping around w/ monster trucks....I tell the anoying kids at the track they can use it if they give me a grand....cause you knw they'll break it.......I learned my lesson on that when a friend drove my yokomo electric TC right in to a puddle at full speed and then stopped in the middle.......Hey how fast do these things go anyway??? the questions I always get asked are:
Why is my Dog shivering under the bed?
Have you seen my cat?
Where's my kid?
and
What is that stuff all over the front of your toy truck???
HAHAHAHAHA

When I used to run my r/c's hardcore, i'd frequently get the same 3 kids coming by watching me. Always asking those same annoying questions.

Since i've got a computer radio, i've actually let a few kids drive my car if they're nice and respectful. I just turn down the throttle to about 15-20%. Enough for them to get in trouble, but not enought to break the thing.

The one I hear the most is "How much did that cost?" The rest are generally stopped when I name the price tag. I have been asked a few times, "How fast? How far? How high?" etc.

I am very nice to question askers, as we all started there, and you never know who the next RC genius might turn out to be. Help them out, get them interested, and keep the hobby alive.

by far my most asked question is how much...and i only wish it was some kids in the parking lot asking but... NOooo its alyways the wife asking that one :hammer:

naw really all fun aside she really cool with it my baromiter is if i feel guilty about or want to try to hide / underestmate the price of something I'm spending to much

now that i sidetracked the thread....i wish i had more kids checking it out and yeah the kids with less money are the one's id like to see

The last group of "kids" that asked me how much and how fast all bought Savage 25RTRs the next day. Two of them bought a second one and upgraded to .26 motors.

You never know how old a kid can be. The ones I'm talking about are all co-workers with an average age of 35., or was that 3 to 5 years? :D

People always ask me how fast it go's, and when i tell them they say thats not fast.lol. They think its fast one they are running away from it at 1/4 throttle lol. screaming there head off.

When they ask me how much it is, I look at them and only say, "If you're asking, then you're not gonna like the answer." Usually after that they say something to the effect of ... "All that for a toy?!?" I tell them that if you want a toy, go to Radio shack. If you want to get into the hobby, here's the business card for the LHS I go to. THey'll answer all your questions. Also, pick up an R/C mag. You'll see what it's all about.

I get the same standard questions all the time. I have even managed to get 2 people started in the hobby, and probably gave my neighbor about $300 worth of stuff over the last couple of years....The only problem I have with onlookers and questions is that the kids WON'T get out of the street!....

I tell all the kids around when they start getting in the way...."If your gonna be Dumb, Ya Gotta be tough...NO Whining when you get smacked w/ a monster truck goin 40 MPH"

I get the same questions.

How fast? Faster than I can run!
How much? More than my wife likes me to spend!
Can I try? No. No. No. No. No. No.... I'm going home now.

The only people I let drive it are people that can afford to fix it and people I can get the $ from. Even then, I set the epa on the throttle to about 30%. Just enough to keep the savage out of second, but enough for it to pull a wheelie... People always smile at wheelies and 6 feet of air under my "toy" truck:)

lol if only
You can't go WOT w/ little kids around...
I dumped a Sirio .27 for that reason....causing more problem w/ my maxx cause of it...Never again.....Screw em if they can't jump out the way
MOWIN EM DOWN LIKE BLADES O GRASS UNDER A SNAPPER

I have hit my fair share of moving targets. Although I chuckle when I hit El Pirata or my other bash buddies, hitting a kid with 12 pounds of RC at full tilt is never a good thing. Believe me, I have done it and having to run over to someone else's child and explain to both parents and child how a grown man couldn't keep a "little bitty gas powered RC" under proper control does nothing for the tears, bruises or broken bones left in the wake of such an experience.

So, while the joking is funny...leave the moving 'em down comments for those that can properly defend themselves against such fast moving objects....like El Pirata.
