I have a Savage X that I have replaced every plastic part with aluminum and I'm now afraid to bash it lol. I want a 1/6 or above Monster Truck. What does everyone think of the FG Monster truck? Are there any better ones out there?

All that kit looks to do is make the Savage much heavier and longer, not features I'd be willing to spend $500 extra on.

eartaker, I have an FG Monster Truck and love it, it's huge, it's powerful and it's a blast! Anyone who's never drove a gas powered R/C has no idea what they are missing. No more spending half the day just trying to dial in your needles it's a simple push of the primer and pull start it. My FG MT starts up on the first pull and I can run the truck for at wide open throttle and not have to worry about blowing the engine.

If you decide to make the jump to large scale you might want to check out RCNT's sister site: www.largescaleforums.com

Hmmm yes I have been looking more and more and the FG monster truck looks like the way to go but i can't find a site to sell them. any way of helping me out there?

you don't have many options, probably the FG is the most popular and it will be easyer to find parts, you also have the XTM Grizly that is a chinese copy of the FG , if you want to go with a 4x4 MT FG is (2WD) you might take a look to the MCD.

This is the american distributor. http://www.largescalerc.com/

This is the official site. http://www.mcdracing.com

Eartaker,

I purchased my FG Mosnter Truck from LargeScaleRC.com - just ask for Troy and tell him Michael from LargeScaleForums.com sent you there, he'll take good care of you.

You can also check out Daves Discount Motors (www.davesmotors.com) and use coupon code LSF for 5% off your entire order!

The two most popular large scale in the US I would say is the HPI Baja 5b and the FG Monster Truck - neither of which you should have a hard time getting parts from if you don't mind ordering online. Doesn't bother me much because I can call up Troy order a part on Monday and have it to my door by Tuesday afternoon.

As for the MCD option - very nice setup and the four wheel drive is hard to pass up. The only thing that made me go to FG is the price. The MCD is about $1,400 w/o radio gear or motor. For $1,400 you can usually get a RTR FG with some nice hop-ups as well!
