I can't figure out why the right front tire is so sloppy, All the tires have a little bit of play but not like the right front. It seems like something is loose in the steering but I can't figure out what it is. Is there something I should upgrade? It really aggravates me.

Have you upgraded to bearings in the wheels yet?
Slowly wiggle the front tire and look to see what else is moving or not moving. After going cross eyed you will find the offending part / s.
It will take a good 45 minutes and herbal medication to see it properly.

Is your wheel wobbling excessively or is it in your steering assembly?

Or you could just take the wheel off and see if that side of the steering still wobbles. If not, it's more than likely the bushings (if you haven't upgraded to bearings) or perhaps a damaged wheel.

I was going to suggest the damged wheel but Candyman beat me to it. CHeck out the wheel for warping or damage where the wheel sits on the hub carrier. Had a similar problem to my first set of Maxx wheels. It would wobble forever no matter what I did.

Bearings took the slop out of mine's wobble.

Mine was sloppy and it was do to the steering assembly. The screw that is on the steering assembly on top when totally screwed down still left it loose. Get a metal steering assembly and this will take the slop of that right front wheel. Bearings fixed a different kind of slop and not the one I think you are explaning.

I think you're right. I'll look around for some allum. assemblies. Thanks everybody!

the al. steering assembly took care of the slop in my right front as well. thanx for the advice guys.

btw- does the transmission in the mini-t come equipped with bb already?

I havn't completely torn down my mini-t yet but I don't think there are any bearings anywhere in it in stock form. I have a bearing kit ordered.

Actually, the tranny does have bearings stock. That's the only place. They are on the topshaft, idler gear and diff. So that's taken care of. Just needs bearings in the front wheels and rear hubs.

I noted 3 problems with my mini-t's wiggley front end. One, the threads weren't long enough on the axle to tighten down the nut enough to make the bearings do their job, a pack of 4mm axle shims from BRP fixed that right up. Two, the stock wheels were either glued by a three year old or someone who didn't care, I went out and got a set of new unglued dirt hawgs and glued them myself, MUCH better, now on top of spinning well from the bearings doing their job and not slipping on the axles, a true set of tires does wonder. The final malfunction is the stock steering assembly, IT SUCKS. There's about 1mm of play in the linkage, the whole thing is just put together bad. I picked up a GPM steering set http://www.rcxmini.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_10_38&products_id=60 and installed it, now it's one happy camper. Almost no play at all and now I'm not terrified to wrap out my mamba 8000kv, before I'd get high speed jitter which resulted in buying a new chassis pan, twice....damn curbs.... :p

Side note, stay away from the GPM tie rods, they are a very soft aluminum and bend easier than the stock ones, and break much easier, I ended up throwing them away after breaking two while I was installing them, no I have the BRP tie rod set, MUCH better, no more spagetti looking tie rods.

mine had berings in the rear hub stock

but ya baerings in the front whell def
