I'm fairly new to electric, I put a Tekin 8.0 in my mini lst, does anyone have any good setups for this and is there a huge speed difference in a lipo pack to a normal rechargable, its quick but my friend has a mamba and a 12volt lipo and its silly fast just wondering! thanks

i dont know about a setup with the mlst. but you could get either a 7.4v or a 11.4v lipo (2 or 3 cell) to fit in the mlst the 7.4 would be about as fast as the regular packs but with longer run times. the 3 cell witch you friend probily has will be crazy fast...if you have a 8000kv motor it will spin 8000 rpm per volt you put to it.
so that motor at 7.4v (2 cell lipo) could spin roughly 56,000 rpm max (it will be less than that)
at 11.4v (3cell lipo) it could spin 88,000 rpm ....thats a lot of extra power

Brushless 3 cells are insane. I just got mine last week and havent got it past about the 3/4 throttle mark.

People think "OMG Ima put a 3s lipo and 8k mamba and itll b teh max!"

But really, to go the fastest you would use a Mamba 5400 and 3 cell lipo.

BTW retard, 3cell lipo is 11.1 volts. ;)

Actually, the Mamba 6800 Kv would be the fastest. It can run a 3-cell LiPo. It's just the 8000 Kv can that can only run a 2-cell.

The Tekin and Mamba motors are same. I have the 5400, 6800 and the 8000. You will need good 20c 3s lipos to move your MLST.

The 8000 produces around 180 watts max which is more than the 5400 and 6800. But at the same time lacks the torque of the 5400 and 6800.

I have the Wraith that has a can size of a 300 and will produce more than 300 watts with top of the line lipos. It blows the Tekin/Mamba motors away. It's a killer match for the MLST.

I tried it in my Micro RS4 and Xray M18T, stupidly uncontrollable fun.

There's a link in the text that will take you to the movie of the Wraith 7k in an MLST.
