Why? A mERV VXL on 3s is a handful.
Most of the high performance rigs use a single-speed transmission for reliability. I have not seen a 2-speed for any of the 1/16 Traxxas vehicles.

^^Agreed, if you need more than 50+ mph, then you've figured out something in vehicle setup that I haven't. I can't keep mine on the ground full out even when geared WAY down.
