Joe...thirty something-ish. Beat-up, broken and half worn out...lol I have been Air Force for the last 16 1/2 years as a jet engine mechanic. I currently live in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, lots of travel in the job is one semi-bonus but it does get old sometimes. I have been into RC off and on since I was about 12. It was all AE and Losi electrics until about 8 years ago when I got into nitro.

Hey Ralph! We need a designated driver for the bus, so put on some pants, give me back my helmet, and strap in!!!
Ummm, that's gonna be a problem. Whenever I'm not wearing pants I've been using your helmet as a cup.

That would require him *gasp* firing it up and *gasp gasp* getting it dirty!!!
I just unpacked it today, cleaned it up and waxed it.
It's ready for spring time.

Trying to figure out what all the "this is an old thread" business is about... everything says "Today"...

Name is Bryan, 35 years old, married for 11, no kids, been a nitro basher for 10+ years, had the same job (same company anyway) for 15 years, currently the Manager of the Java QA department for a trade show registration company that has been around for 30+ years.

15 years ago, started as a field tech that setup the hardware at the trade shows all over the US, was traveling 200+ days a year. Stopped doing that 2 years in and became a db analyst so I wouldn't have to travel anymore. After a few years of being a DA, I became the DA trainer and also the throughput between DA's and IT team. Then it gets a little fuzzy... and 4 years ago, I became the QA group which has since grown to 6 people that I support/manage.

Before that job, was a typical country h'billy that relied on ourselves to fix, build, maintain everything mechanical/electrical. Been driving 1:1 since I was 8, handling a gun/hunting since I was 10, around the same time I was allowed to use a chainsaw...

My life was more exciting as a 10 year old than it is now! LOL

It was a seven year old thread till Lloyd decided to sever the head off it. I feared that the old thread references would get lost in translation, but it really doesn't matter as this too will get derailed sooner or later. I'm going with sooner...

My name is Chad I live in Ky no I am not a UK fan. I am 37 years old got my first hobby grade RC when i was 12 a Tamiya Blackfoot. before that my dad and I played around with balsa wood control line airplanes. After the Blackfoot I had a Traxxas Sledgehammer which got stolen. I was out of the hobby for a few years after that then got my first nitro a T-MAXX pro .15. It also got stolen then a 2.5 which I sold and got a 3.3 4908. Then I bought a used Savage X and rebuilt it. Sold the 3.3 and just last year bought a new Savage XL. I have been hooked on nitro since the pro .15.

Wassup Chad! Yep, you are going back a ways with the Blackfoot! My first "real" RC was a Tamiya Frog. That was about 28 years ago. Man I feel old...

Me TOO!......But not too old to play with little toy trucks...er I mean miniature high tech racing machines. Yeah that was back before the RTR days when you had to buy the kit and the radio system seperate. I remember getting the Blackfoot and bringing it home. I took it out of the box and was like HOLY S...! How the hell am I ever gonna put this thing together! Up until then the only experience I had was building 1/24 scale model cars.
