I'm currently using a LC4 plug (medium) in my JL .28 MAX and fuel with 20%. They have stopped manufactured fuel with 20%.
So i'm left with choosing 16% or 25%. I'm going to pick 25% but can I run that with a medium plug?

You can use other brands of 20% fuel, byrons, HPI stuff (bit smokey)- as well as many others, see what your LHS has :)

Yes, you can. I run 25% (mixed 20 and 30 50/50) in all my rigs. I switched my OS21TM from the LC3 to the LC4 as I felt the LC3 was too hot with 25% and it does really well with the LC4. I run odonnel medium plugs in everything else (LRP28's). I might run an LC3 in my jato, which has a TRX2.5R in it. I haven't checked to see what I have in that thing for a long time.

What o'donnel fuel do you use?

Previously in the 50/50 mix, one gallon was the speed blend 20% nitro (8% synthetic/castor mix) and one gallon of the race blend 30% (8% synthetic only oil). This time I think I got both gallons of the race blend. So, I'm going to have to pay closer attention to temps and smoke as full synthetic will flash burn the lube at a lower temp than a castor/synth mix.

I proffer byrons race blend.

Well i have tested o'donnels rtr fuel, but i was not happy with it. Probably to much oil. I'm sure i will be satisfied with speed blend. But 1 gallon speed blend (20%) cost the same as 25% Nitrolux 5 Liters. (1.32 Gallon). But they don't sell any quartz of speed blend here.
