mbx5 vs xb8 torn.....

as the xb8's and prospec hit ebay i have noticed a huge price drop on the regular mbx5's....would it not be cheaper to get a regular one ...then goto http://www.mbx5parts.com and grab the upgrades???????????

just an idea.....

no still works out cheaper to buy the kit straight off or at least it does over here, other wise they would never sell the real deal, there alot of upgrades that most people dont even thin about, like the reall cool and ever so important carry bag :) lol
 
I love the carrying bag, and don't forget about the Prospec stickers, and yellow rims and wing.

Seriously though, I did the math when I bought mine, and it came out about $150 cheaper to by the real thing, rather than the standard verion, and hop it up. Now what I didn't look into is other companies that make hop ups for the MBX-5.
 
its his uncle. i think the deal is still goin, but now he's advertising X1CRs for 499.

lol...i know this doesn't fit but the dream car thing got me goin...sorry...lol

i still don't understand what makes the prospec better than the mbx5...seems to me all you would need is the rear hub carriers and engine mount to have an awsome car...or did everyone forget the mbx5 is a dam good car itself????

kinda like the 777 and the special 1...i guess... i hear from both sides...some say its better and others say its not really worth it....i guess its all up to what each individual wants

And the shock towers, chasis braces, hinge pin holders, hinge pins, titanium steering rods.....
 
Oh yeah, I was working on some things today, and came across anothe Prospec part. It is one of my favorates too. Con't believe I forgot about it either. It is the allum. drop gauge. Didn't have one before, and it is made of the same allum. as the rest of the Prospec parts. Man, I love the color of the anodizing.

The Prospec takes an already tough as nails buggy and makes it even more difficult to break. An example for you...I'm certain you have seen or heard about my abuse of my MBX-5s in the areas of flight. Prior to upgrades, my chassis braces kept popping off their balls or kept busting the heavy duty rod ends that go over the balls. Upgraded to the Prospec variant chassis braces and no more worries. Sucker is nice and rigid with no problems getting the huge air. Next example, a couple of nose in landings from great heights produced some bends in my stock front shock tower. Upgraded to the Prospec towers, and even from a height of 25ft+ on the nose...no damages to the tower.

So why Prospec? What makes it better? For this basher, it is the pure strength added by the upgraded parts. But that is just me.
 
I CAN DIG IT BRO....I AM ALL FOR EXTRA RIGIDNESS AND STRENGHT...but for 200+ more for the kit....i just can't see it myself.....but then again...i bought an xb8 when i had a fully macked out hyper7 pcr pro...for no other reason than i just wanted it....so i can see both sides to the story!!!....lol...i was just curious

thing is if you can afford the best why seattle for not the best, just to save it to waist on something else, there only 200nzd between the mbx5 and the prospec if you brought the options seperate you would be spanding about 400 more + there are ather small differences between the standard and the pro that you wouldnt even know about.
