Sup i have a friend thats looking at these 2 buggys he can't decide what to get he wants one that is reliable and is fast and one that is easy to get parts for I'm having trouble being able to find parts for the mahyem i know the ofna wont be to hard to find parts for. Can anyone help me steer him in the right direction?

Ofna will be much easier to get parts for, thats what I'd go with but I hear good and bad things about the Mayhem...

I had a friend who bought the Mayhem but returned it and bought the PBS. I have a brand new one for sale so ask your friend to PM me.

:buggy1: ofna all the way but he migh want to look into the mbx-5 nice buggy :redbuggy:

The Mayhem is really fast with it's .26 engine and it's just as reliable as the PBS (I have both, they are about the same "age"). It handles much nicer than the PBS out of the box. The radio is really nice; it's FM, and the servos are good; you'll probably end up keeping them. Have to agree with the parts; it seems that Horizon Hobby doesn't have a lot of the spare parts in stock til June. Not sure why people are saying the Mayhem isn't reliable; it's tough, put together well, for the most part the screws are in place as they should be as in any RTR.

The PBS is good as an RTR but the servos are no good and so your friend will need a better steering servo. And you're right, the parts for the PBS seem availabe nearly everywhere. It's tough too, but I've bent the rear shock towers taking tumbles while the Mayhem hasn't been bent (and I crash them the same way).

I'd go with the Mayhem keeping in mind that the spare parts won't be available til June. If you don't want to take a chance on spares, then the PBS is good but it won't be as fast or handle as well out of the box as the Mayhem

I have to say go Mayhem I have beat the living tar out of mine, and the only parts I have broken is 2 left rear lower a-arms both in the same day and the same tree darn LOL. I really dont know much about the PBS so I can't give an educated opinion. but from the other out of the box ofna stuff I've seen, I'll have to say mayhem all the way.

I Say ofna. I love my pbs and it handles pretty good in my opinon. I am putting a airtronics mx3 and a hitec 645 sterring servo in it to get the oustanding handling it deserves. I've seen worse radios but it doesn't come with the top of the line by any means. Ofna includes a starter box and a pullstart. The starterbox has no problem turning the motor over after break in. But your waisting your time if you think it will work during break in. The .21 8port is race legal where as werks .26 isnt. The hyper is by far a better racer and it can take a serious beating as well. Ofna really did their homework...

Dude... your not going to like that 645mg in your steering. Too slow and they kinda suck compared to $20-30 more servos. "Go airtronics and you wont turn back" (thats what the guy at my lhs says anyway). I'm getting really good servos for my buggy (my cheap ones r good for now tho)

I'd have to agree with buggyracer on that one. The 645 is ok, but its definatly not a race servo. Not enough speed to turn the wheels. If I were you I would look at the 625 before that, but even then save up a few more bucks and get a faster better servo.

645 is too slow! I've never driven an Ofna PBS, but I own two Mayhems and have run against a PBS. My view is this, if you haven't actualy experianced it directly or received it from a VERY credible source, don't post it as fact, just say "My opinion is such and such", but cut the bravo Siera! I don't post on what I hear, I post on my actual experiances. Now if on the other hand, you've witnessed these things, then post on, by all means. Seems that we have a lot of brand favoratism here!

I own a hyper 7 so i have whitnessed it first hand. I didnt say anything about the mayhem because I dont have 1. I'm saying My opinion from my past and present experience. If i didnt own any of these buggys i wouldent be saying anything. I dont know were you get "brand favoratism"...

"The hyper is by far a better racer and it can take a serious beating as well." Please explain your statement above that the hyper is better "By far" if you don't own a Mayhem or havn't driven one. If you've driven one then you should state that you've driven both and give your opinion accordingly. From your statement above and your previous posts, it would seem that you're very pro Ofna and biased against other brands. If I'm wrong then please forgive me, but that's the way it appears.
My intent isn't to jump on you or cause problems, just to clarify where you're coming from.
