i need a buggy, does not matter if its kit or ready to run. i really want to start racing so i can drive with other people instead of playing with my savage all by myself! $$$ is no object to me :cheeky: recommend me a buggy that can take the beating off huge jumps, but still can come in 1st place every time in a race (with me driving maybe last)!

Kyosho Inferno 7.5 Kanai II with the O.S. Max .21 VZ-R Version 2 Engine or O.S. .21 VZ-B VSPEC (since you want to Race). Some argue that O.S. engines are not the best, I have a different opinion from travelling overseas and Japan. I would check the forum for other opinions, one racer gave his pick here a short time back.

Electronics you can figure out

thats what i prob. going to get, question is where can i get it the cheapest?

Well with this car your not going to save too much depending where you buy. If you buy from tower, its 579 but you have a 20 coupon, Ace is 559 so your not going to be saving too much either way. I would personally buy from Tower since they have tracking and they have the vehicle in stock.

Well, I'm not sure about which Radio to get, because an FM radio, which is what you want, have different features and capabilities. I would defer to the folks here. Also remember you will need tires for this car, servos (high speed/torque for the front and if you want quick braking for the throttle) a Manifold, Coupler, and Tuned Pipe. Depending on the engine you choose, you will need a starter box which your Savage doesn't require.

Also remember that racing is not about speed but about control and reflexes. Even though your equipment may be top notch, the flaws of any car are masked or revealed by virtue of the driver. Just my two cents.

LOL. I just found this kinda funny. You mention money is no object and then you want the cheapest price. ;) The nature of the beast.

Do some searching on the site for race engine. I know FRB has posted his top picks for a buggy engine. If I remember correctly OS wasn't in the list.

You can't go wrong with Tower. Their customer service is top notch and shipping is pretty quick.

For a radio I would suggest anything synthesized. Since you are going to be racing running a synthesized radio will be nice incase of frequency conflicts.

I am running the JR XS3 and I like it. Tower doesn't carry JR so you would have to purchase it from Horizon Hobby.

Of course I am not sure how good the XS3 is for racing. In the RC Car Action magazines they print out what the drivers are using for radios and such and 9 times out of 10 its the Airtronics M8. I believe this is a crytal setup but I just noticed in the last magazine that someone is coming out with a synthesized module for it.

well thanks for all your help, and i hope i will get one as soon as possible. job pays pretty well

Well I have used a number of engines for racing (To date I have only raced and have never really bashed outside of a track). I use the OS .12 CV in my GT and the engine is very good for the price. The engine is not the best but has plenty of power and easy to tune and holds a tune. I have also used Sirio as well and all of those engines work well too. Tiger engines are poor. Sometimes it is the luck of the draw. You must also pay very close attention to the break in procedures and this will in large part determine the life of your engine.

As far as radios I have used a couple of the radios which come with the RTR and they all sucked across the board. So I bought the M8 and have never looked back. The M8 has all the adjustments you will need for quite some time. It also has support for up to 10 models and there is a syn Tx module you can use for all your rides.

If you want further info on what you will need to be prepared for racing let me know. I have a pretty in depth procedure for getting prepared. But preparation is a huge part of doing well in prof. racing whether it be your local track or a national event. Good luck and remember to have fun!
