Maxx packs? Reciever packs?

Yeah, I can't say. My charger is an old NiMH NiCAD charger. It lets me pick .5-4.5A (amps) for charge current and that's all I mess with. It figures the rest out on it's own. I charge anything from 1 to 8 cells at the same time. Just an old MRC 959 I've been using for many years. I use it for my stick packs for my roto-start (when I used one), my single cell glow heaters (2200mah AA NiMH cell), my 8 cell or 4 cell transmitters and my receiver packs. I also use it to charge any LSD AA's I use around the house.

Almost every hobby charger that I've used, you select the number of cells and the charge rate and that's it.

I have a couple real old school nimh (no lipo settings) like a dynamite vision peak charger... It has settings for 4 thru 7 cells and can set between 1,2 and 4 amp settings. From there, it will charge on its own timer. There is no knob (setting) for the charging time. It has a built in peak detection circuit. It lets you know when it's reg charge is done. Then again when it's "peaked"
The newest one I have is the onyx 235.Pretty plain jane, straight forward. Has digital screen and is fully adjustable.

I have a little purple charger too... I forget what the model is but it was a pretty popular and again, straight forward charger. I may dig it out If I get motivated enough...
Ita my bday today so I am taking it easy today... National holiday and all.

I had a dynamite prophet plus, it charged receiver packs hard and made them hot. It worked ok, but pretty sure it charged at 1amp minimum. Yeah, had a switch for 1, 2, 4 amps. I like that the MRC does .5 amp. They don't get as hot with that, but still top off quick enough. If I forget to charge the night before, I'll set it to 1A... but it's rare.

I watch all my batteries when charging anyways. Its a whopping 15-20 mins out of my super busy day (so busy that I can take the time to run that cars!) LOL!!!

I've got a Duratrax 1600mah nimh hump pack and it didn't come with any charger instructions. I've been charging it in nimh mode @ 1c (1.6A) and so far so good.

If it's working for you like that, and the battery is staying cool, charges to cpacity etc... Keep using it! Don't fix what ain't broke! Lol!
