Maxamp's new lipos

I gotta wonder if the 30C claim is legit. I want to see what application would actually draw 195 amps continuous from a 2S lipo.

Chips sc8 setup. Until the motor thermalled. I don't see it happening in a proper application.

In chips sc8 I would expect amp draw to be around 80-100 amps max on 6S. My feeling is that the ESC would thermal way before the battery gets close to it's maximum output potential. Even if he completely fubared the gearing and pushed the motor beyond it's maximum output, say 3000 watts, the amp draw is only 135 amps on 6S.

I'm not trying to dog maxamps as I believe they are a good value pack, BUT I just don't see any application that could draw that kind of amps (in a car).

His amp draw would be higher on less voltage though right?

I am thinking you wot his setup with a 2s and its going to be dumping all its got into that esc.

Correct, but I would expect the ESC to thermal long before the pack sees that kind of current.

Maybe I will try one of their 5S packs for testing, since I already have one of their 5S 6000HV for comparison. But then I would risk destroying my electronics in attempting to draw that kind of current. I think I'll pass and let someone else be the guinea pig. lol

for that price id rather buy like 10 ebay lipos wich imo would prolly outlast that one in the long run. sure that ones prolly got a warrantee, but for all the time it would take to get it replaced you would have been able to buy another $15 lipo and be on your way lol.
