I really wanted to take a pic last night but I never got around to it. I'll post one tonight. I promise.

Last weekend, I put my dremel to work on the body of my Duratrax Maximum ST. I cut the driver-side window out and glued gas tubing around it. I put two holes in my roof: one big one for my glow igniter and one smaller one for my high speed needle adjustments. By the way, a drill cuts perfect holes in lexan. ;)

I'm happy with my work. I thought I'd have a holy mess when I was done. Even the huge glow igniter hole, which I had to free hand, actually looks like a circle and not something my 4 year old did with a pair of scissors.

I also had this problem with my body clips slipping off in wrecks. I could not find a solution.... so I made a solution :D

I took some huge rubber erasers and tortured them with my drill and dremel. The result: some gnarly, round, rubber body holders that do a good job keeping the body on.

I'm happy with my setup. I can start the car and adjust everything accept the lsn with the body on. I see myself, however, buying a new body (i see this one too much in duratrax ads). That means I'll have to do all this over again, but that's ok. It was fun!

Thanks for the help guys (again pictures tonight I promise)

another good way to keep your body pins on is to use a small zip tie around the open end to lock it. I have also seen people slip some fuel tubing in the clip to make it a tighter fit.

He said these things dont have holes throught the body mounts give us a close up of that tonight also man...X

yeah my body clips are totally wack. (seperate thread)

They are about 5/32" wide (prolly meteric). I contemplated drilling them, but I wouldn't have had enough "meat" left on the posts. It would have snapped instantly.

If I could get my pins through the posts, I could use all those suugestions. :( I'll be sure to get a close up shot of that.

As promised, here are some pics:

All done with my cuts. (you can see my red rubber eraser body holder things.)

Close of up the driverside, igniter and hsn cutouts.

I tried to take a close up on the dumb body mounts that are too small to drill holes in. It just got all fuzzy cause I was too close.

The rubber eraser body things didn't hold. I rolled it once in the snow and lost 3 of them. I think I'm just going to include some new body posts in my next tower hobbies order.

Like I said I'm very happy with the setup and the cuts look good. Thanks for the tips guys.
