Hey guys whats going on?

I was wondering if any of you'll have heard of or seen the mantis run??

They look great sitting in the box but i just dont know how they run and handle and all that?

Everything is welcome Just trying to make the right decision.

Haven't seen one on track as of yet but support is lacking in terms of getting parts locally and who carries them online.

Has a wonderful new car smell when you open the box. That's about all I know so far. Been working overtime and for some odd reason people don't like to hear an R/C at 11 pm. Who would have thought?

So far no complaints. I have 8 tanks through it. Running it at 215 deg. and she is very torque, waiting for a couple more tanks before I tune her out. I clipped a curb, ran into a bush, and she just shrugged it off and kept on trucking. The axial .28 is a breeze to tune. :bandit:

Sorry for all the questions, I'm getting a bit hot&bothered about this kit. It's come down to the Revo or this.

How is the replacement part scene shaping up in your area? Are you happy to get parts via mail order?

How has it performance been off road?
Have you played the suspension and steering yet? (toe-in, caster, camber)

The axial dealer made a deal with my local hobbyshop, that if he would put one on the shelf and it didn't sell, that he would take it back no questions asked. It sold the next day. So my local shop carries them and will be stocking replacement parts. And the axial dealer is in easy contact.

So far I haven't played with any handling or suspension. I have been reading all the reviews and the suspension seems setup as a good starting point for my local tracks.

Ask away. I was doing the same thing before I purchased mine.

The local hobby shop here is just gearing up and if I could swing the same situation as your's it would be a win-win for all. I'll dig a bit and see if there are any Axial dealers in the area.

I was looking at the Mantis the other day at my lhs. They appear to be selling quite well. They are having a hard time keepig them in stock. Of the people I know who have them, 3 so far, one simply has his on display, the other says its so pretty he doesn't want to run it and get it dirty, the other apparently got a bad axial motor.

I am not knocking the axial in any way. it is a very strong and durable motor, but with every engine manu, you will run into a bad one every now and then. One problem with the axials that keeps popping up around here tho is the midrange needle seems to fall out. I read about this on another forum and then actually witnessed it last week.

The mantis itself seems to be a solid vehicle, but I have only seen my friends only run one of them. We bash out here. I have yet to hear feedback on how they perform on a track.

I tested my new Mantis last week and looks like a good car, it hold a couple race abuse sessions with no problems, tested on grass and packed tracks and handdled pretty well out of the box, now I'm going to fill diffs and shocks with the appropiate oil and try it again, allthough I've allready decided to race with it next season.

yup, just assembled the car again, I was going to show some pics of the custom carbon fiber parts I've made but the camera batteries dead after the first shot so I only have a picture with the body on it. looks sexy uuuhhhh?:bling:

no offense but i don't think the truck has anything to do with the blown motors man...i got 6 gallons outta of my axial on my mantis... and am currently doing some mods to it to make it better
