I am trying to quit chewing tobacco. I am only 15 years old and it is hard. I bring home 5 cans for a week, and this week i only brought two cans home on sunday and i already have one gone:\. I only brought two because i thought i would slow down then eventually stop?. But one is already gone. Guys it is so hard. I been chewing for two years. I dont know why i got started i guess because i thought i was cool. So many girls thinks it disgusting. I dont even know why i do it. I need to stop and stop soon. Any tips or tricks??

Start smoking Camel non filters. It will absolutely rid you of any cravings.

man camel stubs will kick his ass!!! maybe not. i chewed for about 3 years while i was smoking too and i ended up getting horrable acid from the two so i dropped that chewing sh!t, and yeah chicks dont dig it, but i would dig a chick who chewed so it makes sense lol.

When that happened to me I had the giggles for a week and got in a fight the guy that worked at the gas station because the aliens told me that red bull was 3 for $5 and he wouldn't believe me!

lol I've been there, but that wasn't exactly what i meant lol.

I don't do any tobacco or stuff, but I think that chewing gum actually helps. There's some flavored gum that I'm addicted to.

Sadly, i packed a lip right before i read this post. I had quit for 2 months until this f'n hurricane came and got me all stressed.

oo i use to chew that for 6 months then i got sick of it. i chewed grizzly wintergreen for 1 year and six months i really need to stop

"none of that female pee pee skoal, righ dad"

ajames, I started smoking when I was locked up for four months. I never smoked (tobacco anyway) before that, but that's all there was to do in the slammer, smoke and look at dudes who squatted to pee and walked everywhere like they were in a pair of high heels lol. Anywho, I went straight for smoking Camel non filters. Smoked for a few years and then quit. I set a date that I was going to quit, and used Commit losanges. The losanges worked great for me, I used them for a while, then starting substituting with candy, then I just started using candy and cut out the commit for good.

I don't know if that works for someone that dips or not, but I would think so. It's mostly mental, and when you want a cig in your mouth, you just pop a losange. When you think that you have something that works, it helps to put your mind at ease. I would think it would be the same with dipping.

Also, it was the first three days that were the worst. Once I made it to day 5, things got a lot easier, and I was home free after that.

Good luck quitting, sorry I was being a smartass earlier.

Well, due to the much higher concentrate of nicotine in dip then smokes, it takes a little longer to get over. like a week or so.

Its ok charlie, i know your a great guy. What are your opinions, commit losenges or nicoderm patches?

stop altogether !! any nicotine at all will make it even harder to quit. you might even want to try some patches or some of the gum that is out over the counter now. i have been thinking about quitting smoking, but i still enjoy it to much. you are way to young to have an addiction like that anyway. stop now and it will be easier than in 20 years (like me).

Patches are a waste of money. Tried em when i used to smoke. Put like 2-3 on em, and still felt a serious need to light up. The only thing that got me to quit smoking was boot camp, and the 7 mile runs in full gear every morning at 5am.

I didn't try the patches, but I know with the losanges, it was WAY easier to quit smoking than I thought it would be. Of course I've kicked heroin, meth, and perscription opiates, and nicotine doesn't hold a candle to those things. I would have to say losangez over patches if you were going to use one, because it was actually having the losange to keep me occupied when I had the craving that I liked, which doesn't happen with patches.

well i just got my dad to buy me 4 boxes of lozenges by commit. I hope it helps
