That's what I wanted when my [then girlfriend] was shopping for a car. She didn't want to shift and we weren't engaged at the time so I pretty much had no chance on that one. She ended up with a 2.5T AWD. I bitch about it every time we go somewhere together... I HATE automatics. the seats and stereo suck ass. The sport seats in the R rock but the standard leather ones suck. The stereo is low on power and flat in the midrange... my civic si sounds better. Other than that it's a great ride... for a woman. At least I was able to talk her into a set of 18" BBS

I test drove a new 2005 Evo today fun ride went to the Subaru dealer to look at the sti but didn't have any today.
I have the Magnum SRT-8 on order but with my wife driving a Durago with a Hemi and spending over $200 per month in gas - I just dont know if I want another big block in the family settle for a import rocket that gets 28mpg

Yea, the seats in my Dad's car are very very nice. The sterio has the Dolby 5.1 surround sound, its nice. His has the body kit available from the factory. As soon as his warrenty is up hes gunna put a chip in and a nice exhaust My dads R has the 18'' wheels but damn, BBS would be nice I too hate automatic cars, so I have a standard 3000GT, bro has a standard Mini Cooper S, dads got the R, and mom has an auto...o well, almost all standards.

Well I've never noticed a problem with traction at all. My dad has done launches and some very very hard turns and I have yet to hear one tire loose traction. In the stiffest suspension mode there is almost 0 body roll, the thing turns on a dime. Is amazing in the snow too. I've never lost traction in it...other than times I meant too lol Never even realized it wasn't full time :shrug:

My buddy wants an STI badly. I can't justify the 30k price tag though. To me the 30k would be better spent modding your Spec V. I just picked up another AWD turbo Talon. I got this baby for $200 from some kid who didn't know what it was. The trans locked up on him because he drove it without any fluid in it and it was sitting for about a year. I actually had a good tranny from the last Talon and just put that one in with a new ACT 2600. I ran a best of 13.8@101mph yesterday with just the clutch, a home made boost controller(set@20psi), a fuel pump, and an air filter! Less than a grand and I got 13 second car! Nothing beats an AWD at the track! There's just something about side stepping the clutch at 6k and hardly spinning any tire. You get hooked.

If memory serves me, it's actually fwd most of the time haha.

But anyhoo, I think the STi is a great car. It's been one of my favorites ever since I got a ride in one. Probably one of the best daily driver/weekend track day car. Even better than a lotus elise just because of the performance and practicallity. What amazes me is the cars it can take down, even in stock form.

The Mitsubishi Evo 8 took down a Lamorghini Mercialgo...insane. I personally like the Mitsus over the STi, only based on looks though, both are great cars.

Its a toss up for looks for me. I like them both. I like most of you guys can't see spending 30k on a car just to play. When my civic dies (its at 180k miles now with a smashed roof and f-up hood/fenders thanks to a moose) I"m getting a wrangler. I love the convertabability and offroadablity. I've had fun with my cars in the past but now its time to have fun with a truck like vehicle.

I myself can't spend on toys like that. Between the Two I like the Lancer Evo. I have been drooling over that since the rumor hit the US. The Boxer is a nice ride too but I am partial... Blazer you bastard. Make us drool over your ride..

Yea, it had 400 HP out of 2.0L...pretty amazing. Although I think they called it a Evo 8 didn't they? The STi's competitor Evo, which ever that is, isn't the one that can take a Lambo I don't think...The one in the movie was decked out.
