The MAGIC WHEEL has arrived, if you hadnt heard, I have purchased a t-maxx knock-off called the MAGIC WHEEL. It was purchased from excelhobby.com all for about 230bucks out the door. (had to do some negotiating) Anyhow I finally received it today, I am actually very suprised with it. It was in some terrible pacaking, looked more like it belonged in toys r Us under the named tyco with its see thru lid and cheezy pictures on the front. It came with all the accessories including a radio, glow starter, batteries, 4 way wrench, fuel caddy and an extra glow plug. It is nice complete set. The insturctions are actually quite detailed and suprisingly only in english. They are quite robust and really can teach a beginner alot about Nitro Stuff as it does detail what to do in alot of circumstances. This was actually a nice feature. As for the Truck itself it is really a exact clone of a t-maxx. there are some subtle changes, but overall its a clone. I havent had a chance to run it yet, but when I do I will keep you all posted. I did notice that is a bit lighter than my original t-maxx and thats probably due to its cheaper parts, lack of reverse servo and other low end stuff! The plastic parts on it though arent really all to bad, they are flimsy but thats not always a bad thing, I can really bend them and they return to there original shape. Hopefully when bashing they can take the abuse and not break. A couple other things I noticed were that on the box it says its 1/8 scale, which isnt right, but it is printed on the box! Also the instructions have about the worst grammar I've ever seen, with some details and words either spelled wrong or totally out of context. (what do you expect from a chinese knock off though) Also on a side note, Eric sent me an e-mail today wondering if I would like to become a retailer of these fine pieces of chinese machinery, he would sell me a set of 16 of them for 95 dollars a set equaling a total of 1520.00. This really isnt a bad deal, even for a knock off, I would have no use for 16 of them though! Anyhow let me know what you all think of my wonderful purchase!!

I have decided to spend the morning on breaking in my new magic wheel, let me tell you about the process. All in all it was quite easy, it had its usual problems, but once it was broken it.....well Ill get to that in a minute. First off this thing needed some major adjustments, it seemed to be ok out of the box, but boy was that deceiving. First off the connecting rod from the servo to the brake needs a piece of rubber like the t-maxx does to dampen the force it puts on the brake. Every time I braked it would not just flip but fly over itself from the force applied to the brake, I fixed this easily with some small fuel tubing on the rod. Secondly the 2 speed system needed major adjustment, it was actually just about taking off in second gear, and needed to be fixed to shift at a higher rate, this was also easily fixed. Thirdly the wheels were not attached properly and needed to be tighten downed and re glued, they came from the factory pre glued, but were somehow glued incorrectly making the rim and tire not being glued where they should have been, this was another easy fix. Next youll have to get used to the really loose steering, this thing has some sort of monster servo thats turns radically and makes the car hard to control, getting used to this really isnt all that easy, but for some this is a nice feature. For the suspension, it is very soft and works really well at cornering. Now Back to the main question about the engine, this engine is quite a work of art, it really hauls, I had no problem with it overheating and adjusting it what so ever, it didnt foul up any plugs, it didnt stall but a few times while I was breaking it in, and at maximum performance setting as per magic wheels instruction book, it only runs at about 210 degrees, I'm probably going to lean it out more and see what I can do. But this thing will really HAUL, I have no way of clocking it speed and havent put it up to my 2.5 or savage yet, but I'm willing to bet that it will easily I truly mean EASILY smoke both of them, I really have no clue why, only reason I can think of why its so fast is that its so light and doesn't have so much to push. Either way I am really excited about my purchase and will post a video of it in action this weekend if anyone is interested. And if anyone still would like to purchase one and I can get a commitment of at least 12 Ill pick up a set of 16 and ship them all out!
