take apart the 2-speed and give it a good lookover and scrub down. i find that oils from cleaning and running and whatever else get themselves into that area and can either cause things to slip or gum up and stick. a good lookover should give you at least an idea if there is somthing wrong with the actuall 2-speed.

Yea.... I've got reasonable experience with the Savage, but the LST is a work in progress. I can't say that I've tried this yet, but my friend is replacing his AS clutch shoes and springs with HPI savage shoes and springs. He seems to think that there gonna be alot better with the ingaging the CB, compared to the experience that your having with high revs. My LST1 seems to be getting a good bite early in the revs and I hope it stays that way. I told my bud to see if there was a posibillity that the clutch springs on his After shock were too stiff. And they were. By alot. I don't know if that helps, but hang in there, Dano and good luck.

I don't think the savage shoes will fit unless he uses a savage flywheel as well. The shoes are too thick and will rub on the bell almost always. If you can get the bell on at all. The AS/LST flywheel is built funny with a collar on it. I kind of like it because you can pull the flywheel without messing with the springs/shoes. Makes swapping it to a different engine much easier.

I thought the same thing as your friend. I compared the HPI shoes to the losi shoes and they are much thicker.

I don't know if my friend changed the CB or not, but he managed to get the HPI clutch shoes and springs on his AS with great results. Up until now, he was pretty disappointed in the AS's Clutch system and thought the truck was a wash. Now he's very happy with the truck's proformance with the shoe conversion and considers the AS a worthy ride. I can't be quoted, but I think he used the AS CB. I saw for myself what the changes in setups did for the truck's clutch shoe ingagement and it's working perfectly. Just like my Savage works. If he doesn't post a response to this post, I'll find out what the exact part combo he used to get this accomplished and post it here for you, Dano17 and Olds97.

You can easily use std. clutch shoes. I've used the purple AL. shoes from OFNA with good results.

Cool! Too bad I already spent $13 on stock Losi composite ones for the LST1... I have a couple spare sets of HPI savage teflon ones laying around. Those have always treated me well in every other truck I've used them in. (savage, revo, mammoth, hb buggy)

Any idea if he used the HPI springs and shoes or just springs or just shoes with losi's alternate part?

Hey neobart, Olds97. Yea... I didn't get a chance to chat with my friend today, but I can say he's using HPI Springs and shoes for sure. Thats what got the whole thing started when I suggested this mod to him. I can't imagine him using the HPI clutchbell due to to second gear factor. And I'm pretty sure he's not using a LOSI compliant racing CB. I'll get back to you guys on this one. NOTE: There is one annoying thing that may be nothing, but it's been with his truck since the beginning of break in... there's this whiney whisle sound that emmits every time he revs the rpm's. It's doesn't appear to be anything thats functionally wrong, but it's definately not a savage sound. At first, we thought it was the pipes tuned trait or something along those lines but there's the posibillity that its a tranny noise also, I would guess. He running a Dynamite platinum thats tearing up the pavement in the street at gallon 1. Any comments on that one?...lol

That whine you're hearing is the slipper doing it's work. As far as clutch bells go, the Losi one is about 1mm larger ID than other std. 1/8th scale bells. So you're stuck with a normal 3 shoe setup with that bell. There are guys that make a sleeve for the bell, making it possible to use Werks/Orion V6 clutch. If you use any of these clutches without a sleeved bell, the pressure plate will rub against the inside of the bell.

Sleeved bell on left, normal on right.

Well...It's confirmed. The losi Aftershock WILL accept HPI clutch shoes and springs. And what a difference they make. As I stated above, These clutches and springs do a great service in addressing the late ingagement issue with the stock shoes and springs. Any needed details to this setup can be posted at savagecre's thread regarding the same subject of this mod. I'm not aware of the title of the thread at this time, but I'll edit it into this post ASAP. Ahhh... So the wistling sound I inquired about is the slippers, ehh? Thanks neobart.

I've read that the dynamite platinum is a more expensive LRP 28 spec3. If I find a credible source I'll let you know for sure.
Yea... Ym Bud paid $239+tax at a LHS.I would imagine that their abit cheaper on-line but not bt much. The LRP can be had for $170 ish on-line. the platinum does come with 3 carb inserts that taylor the proformance application to the users needs. I will say this,... The platinum is no RTR. Thats for sure. It's a bad-A$$...lol

Hey dano. Just thought I'd say that were all glad to be helpful to you here and we definately incourage you to post and respond to this threads subject matter... That being said,.. I would like to point out that you will likely have much more luck in getting feedback with your "yellow and gold aftermarket parts" question, by starting a devoted thread for that purticular question. By doing this,... you will also be helping to not derail the subject matter that this thread continues to be about. This is a common protocal for most forums throughout the net. The reason behind this is that some members can wait months before they ever get the information their searching for because of random subject congestion. It happens on almost every thread, but usually is governed by the members themselfs. I've done it myself just because we can get on a roll with ideas and then, linger off path. So please don't take anything here I've said personally, dano17. I thank you for your understanding and consideration to these forum guidelines. And again, Welcome to the site, dano17.

I've had problems with the lst pipe i put on a jammin products jp-3, it gave a noticable difference all around, now its running with axial .28, unstoppable.

Thats great to hear, dano17.
Are you reffering to the LST1?..Whats the issue with the pipe your talking about?

Yea.. My LST 1 pipe is messed up I some way. It has an obstruction in the pipes fitting and can't deliver pressure to the engine. I had to replace it with a another.

A RDLogics1/8th tuned off-road pipe.

The jp1 was the one I wanted but I bought the RDL on impluse.

It's supposed to do fine on an LRPz28R or an OS 30vg which I have waiting in the wings before a Dynamite Mach 28 that I just broke in and aHPI K4.6 that needs a piston
and sleeve.

Your welcome for the help, Dano17.

================================= It's the guys that helpped me here on this thread that deserve the thanks.========================================

the os30 works great with the lst2 sport pipe its the combo I'm running on my revo. all tho i had to grind down the spring flange for the conector to fit better with out slipping off. i also board out the stinger. and man its rips best pipe i used with the 30 so far.

on my lst2 the pipe had a problem with the primer on the gas tank was leaking out of the box. i to thought it was my pipe. but it was just a bad seal on tank.

I didn't give mine time to leak. I tore it out and RTV'd it before I put a drop in the tank. I did the same when I bought the high capacity tank.
