LST body after the bash

So I got in my first good weekend of bashing. The LST is running like a scalded dog for the most part. Not getting a lot of "bite" outta the front tires. In fact they spin about 1/3 the speed of the rears so I think it is time to break into the front diff. If I spin the right-front tire the left-front spins a tad bit in the opposite direction but I can hear a clicking that I can only assume is the gears slipping. The dogbones are okay so I guess the front diff and transfer case (center diff?) are the places to look?

As you can see by the attached photos I am going to be needing a new body soon. This was from one flip. Granted, it was at the end of a five foot jump that ended in an end to end crash... Think the Proline Ram Extended Cab may get the call. Any thoughts?

Also, I am looking into getting a tuned pipe to replace that crappy muffler. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Oh, and I finally tore something up on the Slash. The spur gear is making a horrible noise (at least I THINK it isn't the can) so gonna be picking up a few at the LHS tomorrow. I will tell you: As many people as I have let drive the Slash and as much as I have bashed it and this is my first problem is a testiment to how well Traxxas did with that one. Too bad the Slayer sucks so bad...

When a body looks like that after 1 good bash session, I believe that qualifies as a damn good time. :D

I'd say you have the right idea, checking the front diff for the clicking noise.

lol i tore my body in two peices about 3 days after i got my maxx. DO NOT hit a ramp made out of plywood the wrong way. lol

Amen to that! This was all dirt out on the desert but all the same. Guess that's part of the addiction.

Got the Proline Ram Extended Cab body on the way to the LHS as well as a few other goodies. They took a look at my front end and agreed that I needed to crack that front diff open. Nice thing is they didn't try to insult me by saying I couldn't do it myself. They said they would help me out if I couldn't fix it myself. I used to buy my plastic scale models and supplies from the same people and my dad has been into model railroading for years so they know us.

I wish I had my camera with me today when I visited the LHS as they have a rear quarter panel off a wrecked Traxxas sponsored CORR turck on display. Turns out the owner plays poker with some of the Traxxas guys and they sent it out. Will get some picks when next I am home. Funny--who knew those beds were fiberglass? I didn't!
