Okay guys I am lacking smarts in this category. I want to run an HPI flywheel and clutch setup on my LRP .30 on my race maxx. Will everything match up ok. Also was thinking about using HPI HD aluminum clutch shoes the ones used on the K5.9. What other clutch shoes does the RCNT community recommend. I found a good deal on some dynamite max life shoes online also.

If it came off an hpi 3.5 or bigger it will work just fine. I personally dont like aluminum shoes due to the mushrooming and constant cleaning of aluminum from inside bell. I have a set of the dynamite max life but havnt ran them yet so can't review them. On my truggy I'm running buku with heavy composite shoes and love it! Imo i would find a set of stock carbon shoes to run instead of aluminum. Or let me know how the max life shoes hold up.

I am not a fan of Max life shoes. Had two sets melt in under 20min. My clutch of choice is the integy 7075 kit. Right now I'm running the integy evo 5 7075 kit with great results. I average 2-3 gallons from these clutch kits. The mushrooming mentioned is from a softer aluminum, the 7075 do not mushroom near as bad nor as quickly. It's a harder shoe, most alloy shoes are 6000 grade aluminum.

What size flywheel do you need, the savag uses a 34mm flywheel

I mocked everything up with the savage flywheel everything seems to fit good. Hard to believe that from Integy. I found a great buy on the 7075 kit online so I think I might buy them. If they suck I will just try another set.

Trust me if they can handle the power of two ERCM piccos then your lrp will be just fine. My last set lasted 2gallons with gearing at 20/27!

I purchased a set of the 7075 clutch soes and flywheel combo. I would think they should be here by next Monday or so. I am planning on sending the LRP to ECRM to have some modding done. From what I have researched online the 7075 integy clutch kits are pretty good. It seems the 6000 alum integy kits are the crappy ones.

The 6000 series integy clutches are good. They last a long time to but with serious power they don't lol
