I had an lrp .28 spec 3 that lasted 13 gallons and the piston head was golden brown. When i pulled the engine there was no more pinch at tdc and would not start when warm. Had the engine for 1 year and 6 months. I loved that motor it just riped. But my question was : Was that a good life span from that motor.:D

Usually, anything more than 8 on a <$200 engine is pretty good. 13 is just downright awesome!

If it doesn't have much slop in the con-rod and whatnot, you may want to consider getting it pinched. Should easily get you a few more gallons out of it. I've had a few done by RayARacing and had good results:

Man Olds you beat me to it.....yeah Ray does good stuff. But back on topic...13 gallons on ANY nitro is damn good. I'd say you got your moneys worth for sure.
