haven done the lmt.but have done a few others in my days.. looking a pics of lmt gonna need to get a set on front hubs to replace old rear and servo with arm and 2 steering links some 4-40 all thread should do with the correct mounts to hubs along with servo holder ..

I'm in process of completely rebuilding my LMT, and rear steering is one of the many things it will be getting. Currently I'm waiting on parts, but as long as my Capra is complete by the time those parts arrive, it'll be next up on the workbench.

Yeah I found hopefully all the parts. Now I'm wondering about the controls... should i use the 3rd channel or tap into the steering channel... I'm leaning towards 3rd so that i could steer front and rear independently and then there is set up... probably want less travel on the rear vs front... never done this or knew anyone who has.. what are your thoughts

You definitely want the rear steer on its own channel. You want to be able to control it independently of the front steering, for a lot of reasons. You really shouldn't/won't use rear steer full time...you just use it as needed, for tight maneuvering or wicked donuts, and having it on it's own channel allows you to crab-walk the truck or use only the rear steering in certain situations. For a Monster Truck, it's best to just have a 3-way switch that auto centers (full lock right, neutral, full lock left). For a crawler build, it's good to have 5-way (full lock right, half lock right, neutral, half lock left, full lock left).

it will be a tough battle on a pistol grip radio. if your gonna go have rear steer with independent operation then Id go dual stick ground radio or even a air radio..I've done a few but no crawlers just used a Y splitter on St channel..

It's very simple on a pistol grip, you just need the right transmitter. There are dozens of good options out there. I run a DX5 Rugged with about 10 RC's linked to it, 3 of which (soon to be 4) have rear-wheel steering. The RWS is just linked to the "F" channel. The trucks can all be driven 1-handed if need be.

You can set up a Fyisky GT5 radio to do 4 wheel steer within the programming interface so that the wheels steer in any fastion you want from the steering knob.
