RC Driving Style
I have a 9.5 Pro that I am looking to sell on flea bay(pics to come later). My dilemma is that my engine just died. Which sucks, because I have put close to a grand into restoring this car. Everything from a new gas tank, to rebuilding the diffs (including gears), rebuilt shocks(including shafts), re-wiring the car from the crappy radio receiver style plugs to Deans micro plugs.

Here is what I have:

9.5 Pro
Hitec FM radio
Hitec 645mg steering servo
JR (I don't know the number) throttle servo
Starter box with dry cell battery
two ni-mh packs (one needs to be re-soldered)
Glow starter with meter
Torsen diff
extra PBS suspension
Extra clutch bells
Werks Racing clutch
Extra shock bodies, springs, shafts, and pistons
extra steering knuckles
extra diff gears, diff cases
extra prefilter
Three sets of 4 used tires and rims (mounted)
Two engines-- need to be rebuilt-- Cipolla FZR and a Rossi .21(don't know the model)
3k, 5k, 7k, 10k, diff oil
40wt shock oil
STD Torsen oil
Fuel Bottle
extra screws, shims, clutch springs all in a parts organizer

So should I sell it like above, or should I buy a cheap engine like an O.S. RG and sell with that. And if the later option is your choice, should I leave the engine in the box when I sell it, or should I break it in to sell?

My goal from all of this is to sell the above, and add as little money as possible to buy a Sportwerks Mayhem RTR.

I saygetthe RG andrunthe buggy.....Why sell a nice buggy you know to get a lower end buggy you don't know....if you have a grand in it now then fix the mill or get the RG for it....why take a 500-600 hit for something like that just so you don't have to wrench on your car....I have a 9.5 it was mt first buggy...I loved the way it drove....handles way better than the mayhem.....I've driven friends Mayhems and was not impressed.....it's a good starter if you have nothing but once you get a good buggy in your garage the mayhem seems like a toy....

Dammit Plaid, why did you have to make me think twice? I had this perfect plan hatched out, and now you are giving me doubts. Still though, it would be nice to have a new car again, one with no slop in the a-arms or hubs, new clutch, perfectly re-centering servos, and a radio with a useless (but fun) digital display. I figured if I sold my car for $300ish then I could add $200 and have a brand new engine, radio, servos, and car.

kx250ryder,
I would do like Plaidfish says and just get the RG for your pleasure. Run the car and forget about getting another ride, you probably won't get as much as you are hoping for anyways. If you decide to sell it I wouldn't buy another engine as people will want a deal on the engine too, even though it is new (could mean a loss for you).

ok so say I keep the car and get the RG. All I have is 30% nitro, anyone know if this engine will run ok on that? If so, what plug should I use, since Tower's add says it doesn't come with one, or can I use my McCoy MC8s that I have already? If not, where can I get a head shim for it?

I'm Finding 25% to be just as punchy and the engines seem to last longer....I run at least a gallon a week so I go through engines a lot....the RG will run on 30 but the 25 seems to last longer....I'm on 3rd gallon since the last pinch adn it still feels awsome.....as far as getting a new buggy and expecting the "NEW" feel what happens after the 1st month of running it.....it feels like every other basher car....the quality on the OFNA IMO is better than the mayhem....I just have a hard time getting parts for anything but Mugen and Kyosho around me.....so of course I got an Xray (still a lil hard to find instock parts here but damn it's sweet)....the Mayhems all seem to be really nice for about 2 to 3 gallons then they just feel sloppy....I'm sure it has to do w/ the mechanic more than the car but it still feels chinsey to me.....

just remeber that you are competeing with new rtrs on price, if there selling for 3-400 then you aint going to gwet that for yours, if you do still sell it and put a new engine with it leave it in the box and dont run it, soon asw you start it its worth half the amount My 2C
