As much as I enjoy my touring car and my buggy I would like to hit the skies. I heard of a local group the flies around my area and I stopped by for a few hours and watched. Of course now I have the aircraft bug. :) I would love to progress into heli's but for now I am looking for a nice RTF to start to learn how to fly RC aircrafts. I have heard that I want a top wing plane because they are more stable but that is all I know. I just received a catalog from Tower a few days ago and I was looking at the RTF 40 and 60. Comes with almost everything I would need. What would you guys suggest?

Start with a cheap plane like a tiger moth, its an E plane and flies very well. You will want to start with something slow because if you buy a fast plane your going to need lots of glue to fix it after you crash it..

Cool. Are these kits? What am I looking at spending to start flying? (ball park) Thanks.

Your looking at around $150 to $170 for all your going to need to get in the air.

I can't wait to get one of the GW B-2's! That ducted fan getup looks fast! I have seen a couple fucted fans in action but never a double DF. That A-10 looks pretty sick too!

I'm in!

The Slow Stick Pico Iron Crosses are great indoor flyers as well as 'zero weather' flyers. We are awaiting a response locally on whether or not we will be able to use an indoor driving range on the weekends.....

Looking at the link you provided what kind of flying time am I looking at before I have to land and recharge the battery?

The plane thats the LHS price you can get it $10 bucks cheaper on ebay. The radio is the same one I use and the price is good. Tower wants to much $$$ for batts, you want the small connectors less weight. And the SC your looking at will work just fine.
