Hey Guys,
I am looking at getting a Blitz or a SC10 but had a few questions before i purchase one. I checked with a track near my house and they said they were going to run a 2wd spec class this year with all brands able to run. Since i am new to r/c racing i am curious what, if any, modifications are u allowed to make to the truck to still be spec? can u change the steering servo? what battery runs best in the Blitz and SC10? what kind of speeds can i expect out of the both? Are they the top 2wd brands out there? Does one have an edge over the other? just want to make sure the one of these 2 is right for me before i buy one. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Cheers,
Greg

Most spec classes will let you change the radio gear and steering servo, but that's it. Keyword being "Most", best to check with your LHS who is hosting the races and verify.

As for the Blitz or SC10 - both are top notch short course trucks and will perform very nicely on the track, you'll be happy with either one. If you're on the fence on which one to get I'd again check with the LHS and see which one they carry the most parts for. While you can get parts for any R/C online, if you're out racing and need a part that day then you're at the mercy of your LHS so I'd check and see what they carry.

thanks for the advice. i called the lhs. they wont carry much for the sc10 or the Blitz but will get any parts for either that i need.

I looked into all of what's out there and I mainly wanted a kit to build so I can build it my way. I want to use my electronics and radio so I ended up with an SC10. It's a good company plus parts are all over the place. Most all of my electric cars are Associated or Associated based. Hope this helps.

It's best to check with the track on what their rules are for the spec class. You wouldn't want to get bumped out because of a small change you made to your truck.
