First off, I'm a newb here so go easy on me;) This is a deal I'm looking at. I was hoping to get some more educated opinions.

Both are rustlers.
1st truck has a Velineon esp and a mamba max 5700kv motor.
2nd truck has a mamba max esp and a velineon 3500kv motor.
1 4200 and 1 3800 battery and quick charger.

First thing I thought was, why are the ESC switched? Anyway, he said he could switch them back. So couple of questions.

Which is a better brushless system? The Velineon? or the Mamba?
Which is better, 5700KV or the 3500KV and why?
Lastly, will a brushless system run on NiCD or NiMH? But only shows in increased performance on Lipo?

Thanks folks. I've been trying to get into RC for a while and it looks like I might finally make it.:D

Truck 1 is $250
Truck 2 is $200

BUT these are Canadian dollars. So for some comparison a new Rustler VXL is $369.99 here.

Seems like a decent deal considering what they are. I personally dont like rustlers and I know a lot of people dont. They aren't very durable from what I hear.

To answer you ESC question: The Mamba Max is a better choice simply due to the fact that you can program it from your computer. You can program max input voltage, max speed, max brake, voltage cut-off, etc. The XVL is a good ESC but you are stuck with the pre-programed options only.

+1. Plus, they are two wheel drive and thus will be hard to control in the dirty stuff.

I use the setup with mamba maxx esc, and velenion motor, just due to the fact that the lower turns, or KV, i can use a higher voltage battery, with less chance of thermal meltdown.

Thanks everyone. The guy decided to sell them both together for $400. So oh well.

Thanks though!

I found a regular rustler with a two 1800 Mah packs for $150. So I might do that. The rustler isn't my first choice, but between spending $150 for this or $400 for the Slash I want...:\

Nah they are $250 plus batteries and charger, plus tax would come to around $400.

Found a real good deal now! ahaha, a slash, with brushless motor, and two batteries (3200 and 4000) and extras tires and rims for $265 delivered to me. Again in Canadian $. I don't think I'll be able to find better then that anywhere.
