hi all

well first off i have now rebuilt my engine kinda anoyed i could of got my crank case from ebay for £10 instead of my LHS for £30

looks like hong nor manufactures the parts for ofina ansmann and HPI and ofina have the lowest markup for parts yay

any way to the point i need a conrod to finish my engine rebuild as the bushing in the bottom of my current rod is pretty much shot so it wont start

so could i use this conrod or any .28 conrod
http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/17106/

or do i need to gat a conrod that will fit the ansmann/HPI force .28 or the ofina force .28

also do the ansmann force .21 and .28 use the exact same conrod size if so i could get that for £12.00 GBP inc shipping

i did notice the ansmann/hpi conrod are identical the ofina one just differs slightly were the central channel is cut out

i noticed most .28 conrods were pretty much the some

I'm trying to cut some of the cost as I'm selling my truggy to downsize to a 1/10 truggy

Well alot of engines will host the same rod but you need measurements to be sure it will work. You dont want to buy a rod that will have a shorter or longer stroke than your current rod. Maybe someone will chime in that has the knowledge and experience with the .28 force engine and can direct you to a rod that will work. Besides that maybe RB MODS makes one that will work. The only thing with them is its gonna cost around $30. Good luck and i hope you find what you need.

if they are the same as a trx 2.5 i have one that's used but in good shape, that i would part with. but I'm not sure if they are the same rod? not sure what shipping would be to the UK from the US.

Most rods from different manufacturers are not the same, either too long/short or the rod bearings are different diameters then the wrist and crank pins. The first link has all the part #'s for your engine, 52286 for the rod. The .21 rod has a part # 52060 so it would appear they are different so it will not work.

thanks i ended up ordering the HPI/ansmann .28 conrod 1492 HPI Connecting Rod (f4.6) the same as the one thats from before i split my crankcase when the crankshaft pin snapped off.

once i buy my new truggy how often should i replace the conrod i read it should be replaced after breaking-in then every 5-6 gallons then to replace the piston liner & piston once the compression has reduced.

also who manufactures the crankcases for HPI Ansmann & Ofna as i read the force .28 engines were rebranded hong-nor .28 engines
