Hi All,

I recently bought the new Revo 3.3 and have an old Tmaxx 2.5. Although I think they are both fantastic, my experience has only been with Traxxas brand and I would like to tinker and run something different. I am looking for fast, great handling, minimal engine tinkering--ie. changing needle settings and stall outs or engine problems--if such an animal exists. Any suggestions?? any would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I recently picked up an OFNA Hyper 7 used.....great buggy. I have the Revo....actually two of them as well, and I have found the Hyper a nice break. It just runs....I mean you have to do some tinkering but it no where near the effort a Revo or tmaxx is.

Just my two cents

No engine will need no tinkering.....tuning is based on Oxygen / Fuel ratio....the O2 volume in air changes with temp and humidity...if those environmental factors change too drastically while you run YOU WILL NEED TO RE-TUNE.....that is the part of the hobby that teaches you stuff if you choose to learn.....but after all that I second the Hyper series for a change and not too hard on your wallet......but I would get an OS RG...real basic tuned mill that's cheap and has a lot of torque for the money...

thanks TalonOne I will do some research on the Hyper7. Do you know anything about the savage x or the duratrax warhead? those were the 2 I was looking at

thanks plaidfish. I appreciate your reply and will do some research

The saage x big block was one I was looking at also. I went to my lhs to see what they have to say and they said its a good reliable truck but if you break something you'll have a 50% chance you need to tear apart the whole truck. Another thing they said it if you are looking for a mt that it easy to work on they pointed me to the mgt from asso. They saod its about the same durability but in a easier wrenching form. Me I think the savage is more o a 4x4 andthe revo is a little sporty. thats my:2cents:

the savage X was designed to be easier to wrench on than the original Savage. Also, they are tough. I don't have any experience with the MGT, but heard it is a fine truck as well. I do like my hpi's. I would stay away from duratrax given a choice of Associated, HPI, or Duratrax.

thanks machbaser 1--am definitely thinking of the savage x. I found out that the assoc mgt and the duratrax arent nearly as good

The Associated MGT is a very good truck, and now with the .32 in it should be even better! Your right about the Duratrash!

+1 on the ae trucks they are killer just make sure if you get one to go through it and lock tite all the grub screws or you will have a crappy first few runs.....

right away you want to consider the lst 2, strong durable no tranny tuning and little engine tuning, and the motors can be ran hard with no problems
