I own a set of Trinity hex drivers. A few days ago I managed to strip one of the set screws with my poopy kit "L" wrench. About half an hour later I managed to get the set screw out. My question is where I can get a new set screw. The head is 2.0 MM. I managed to find a set screw the same size at the local hardware store and it started to go in ok but then it started to really bind up. If I remeber correctly the set screw I was trying was SAE and they didn't have any metric thread set screws. I have one other place I am going to try today after work but I have a feeling I am going to strike out again.

try dubro set screws, they usually work pretty good for any set screw I lose.

Would you happen to have a link? I just e-mailed Trinity today. I will see what they have to say. I have found replacement handles and tips but no set screws. :(

Woohoo. The mystery of the set screw has been solved. I found a different hardware store that had the screw. Of course the drive was like 40 minutes so I bought 8. :) The screw is an M4x5. With a .70 pitch. The threads are metric. Just incase anyone else runs into this problem.

I thought WWGrainger's catalog was big. McMaster's catalog is a weapon. Or a wheel chock on a bomber.

They do have it all.

I swear by my local contractor tool and hardware suppliers. You might have a good one in your area.

I'm spoiled living in Seattle and I can always walk into Tacoma Screw and get the hardware I need. All the tiny stuff is back behind the counter where customers can't mix it all up like Home Depot and Lowe's.
