Looking for a Good Electric MT

the only reason why i can think that they put phillips screws in r/c is a price thing

cuz then hex screws they have to be exactlly the right size. for a phillips screw the slots only have to be close for you to get a screw driver in there to screw it in

That is my thinking as well.

Anyhow, outside of the phillip screws, the Emaxx is a super nice eletric truck! They got parts out the rear for these things and you can buy most of it used to cut spending cost. Just make sure you have plenty of battery packs. I suggest atleast two sets of a mini of 3300mah. You can actually find some higher mah packs pretty cheap these days...the more mah, the more run time

Yeah I hear ya. I am having a blast so far and the truck is still stock. I am about to tear her down though.... only to be rebuilt bigger badder and a whole lot tougher! I am running two 6 cell 4200mah packs. Hoping to add a couple of 7 cell 4200's here soon!

Thats cool, I just ordered some 6 cell 4200's as well. I tried 7 cell 3300mah packs before but the truck wouldn't work right for some odd reason. I got the truck used and the esc was all hacked up...melted wires etc. So I replaced it with a new one but was to afraid to try the 7 cells again. In the future I plan on switching over to a Brushless system. I may have to buy my son another Emaxx lol I run nitros but electrics have a nice apeal to them...just charge batteries and drive:redbuggy:

The reason I went with an electric MT is because I need something quiet to run around the house. I love the nitros as well... but when the little one is sleeping and I don't want to tick off grandma.... I pull out the electric.

Just becarefull running that thing around the house. I busted an outside flower pot with my son's Emaxx lol Then I wraped a friends Tmaxx around our mailbox :whistle: Once the Tmaxx was fixed, I hydro-locked it a few days later :whhooo: I really cut my teeth on that truck lol

Yeah I learned alot with my first Nitro... which was a Tmaxx as well. I will have to watch it around the house though... We were running last weekend and my brother in law took out the front A arm of my fathers Stampede with my Emaxx... it was quite funny actually! Thanks for the tips my friend.

Good electric MT

Well I really can say no bad or negative things about eithier the Traxxas MT or HPI MT. I own an HPI Esavage and have been extremely happy with it out of the box. A good friend and coconspriter in spending all avaiable funds allowed by the misses purchased a Emax at the same time I purchased the Esavage. I noticed a few things out of the box. Esavage slightly faster and easier to handle, battery run times on both were normal using 4200's, ESC on the Tmaxx was not impressive. HPi's was a good model Needs a fan though for extended racing. Hpi Drive shafts seems weak but hopups could change all that. Easy to work on in my mind as well. TMaxx seemed like a beast to repar. Lastly I cannot remember if TMaxx is ball bearing all over or bushings in some places. I know traxxas will put bushings in their products to skim some manufacturing costs off. Esavage is complete ball bearing all over. All in all the trucks are pretty equal out of the box. Its really up to driver and buyer. Its a toughy to make a decision between these 2 MT's but I would lean towards the Esavage. But again I support HPI products than Traxxa. Have had many traxxas and HPI products. The traxxas I seem not to kep around but I have all my HPI cars that I started with though. Hope that helps.

The only other mod that I haven't seen mentioned is the RPM arms for the Maxx.
