ok so i had to bend some bar but after 30 mins i came up with these body posts. because I've been having a problem breaking the plastic ones and didnt want to wait to buy aluminum ones. so i made the steel ones.

just bored and wanted to show what i did..
oh i still have to sand them and i am in the procees of making a roll bar right now...

Looks pretty good man. I'm all for custom making parts, especially when it saves you dough.

holy poop man - smaller pic = better display

That pics is HUUUUUUGE! lol

Nice work though - good job!

That looks like a pretty good idea I have tons of time so I think I will try it. Ill tell you how it turns out

Just remember, aluminum bends and stays in the new position rather than plastic which can bend and return to nearly it's normal shape. If you don't believe me about the bending part ask Sky, he'll verify my knack for bending aluminum.

ya i know it bends. but this is steel. and was really hard to bend. so i dunno how easily it will bend....

COZEA, please resize your images to be a little more internet friendly (size-wise). Try and keep them to no larger than 640x480. That will make the threads you post more easily read and viewed. Thanks.

Other than that, nice work on the posts. I caution you that steel posts in plastic shock towers is asking for broken shock towers. You might be better off with metal shock towers and plastic posts. The posts are, afterall, much cheaper to replace.

And they are easier to replace. I think dynamite makes some with springs on the tips. Good idea. You might want to try and adapt yours to have a small but stiff spring on the top side. Not sure how you would attach the spring, but it may be worth a shot.

ya sorry it took so long to resize the pics. i didnt have time before.

oh and I'm working on the spring idea now..

looks good now that i can see it all in one pic without scrolling. i have to agree with the other guys, i think more then likely u are going to break ur shock towers with a hard landing on the roof. if u could make a bunch of these, u could try selling them.. make some money.

later
