You guys are a bunch of sissies! Come down here to Florida if ya want bugs. I can walk around the outside of my house right now and find at least ten different kinds of spiders. And yes, we have the recluse as well as the black widows, and a lot of other nasty little bugs. Palmetto bugs, which are just roaches big enough to put a saddle on and race, and the moskito is the state bird. You want bugs we got em! Ya bunch of sissies!!!

Thats why you dont see me living in FLA.... or AZ (scorpions).... That crap just gives me the willies... i rather deal with a thuged out drug dealer in Bed Sty anyday... at least I would have a fighting chance if i was strapped. I would be running around in circles screamming like a little bitch if one of those bugs was crawling on me... LOL

Someone call my boss, and tell him I can't get out of the chair to get the phone, or come to work! I'm scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!

MSLY, we have little brown scorpions here too. it's just like getting stung by a bee. Heres a pic of the Florida Bark Scorpion...

How come no one has posted a pic of one of these cuties. These are quite common in the rural areas of Florida where I live.

man when i lived in cali i came within inches of getting on of those on my face...

i opened up the sliding patio door in my bedroom to go to the backyard one night right around dusk and that little f*&$er had a huge web built in the door frame
and she was right where my face whould have been!! ....ill have to ask the wife where the picture we took is

Three years ago my in-laws moved to Brevard Florida near the Space Coast. I've been down there 5 times in the past 3 years and I do agree that they grow some big bugs down there. There are also a lot of little lizards running around. Those flying roaches (Palmetto bugs) are nasty. I still like Florida a lot, even with the bugs.

You guys need to get out of the city more often....NC is right...screw the wolf spiders the bird spiders and all them big nasty ones...that littel blak widow will kill you...not to mention the water moccasins, alligators and wild boar.....oh yeah don't forget the enormous swarms of bugs that can coat your windsheild in half a second.....I bought land up in hamillton county...should be near NCs place......on my land I have like 3 deadly animals I have to keep an eye out for and I stayed there for 4 days in a tent and no sleeping bag......bunch of sissies...lol......I had a pet tarantula until my tegu climbed in it's cage......poor homer...loki ate him...bugs don't bother me just squash em and keep going.....clean the mess when you can...besides my ferret kills roaches in my bedroom for me all night......

During the period of building our house to now, i have seen quite a few big ass black widows, they did not survive do to a massive hammer attack. I have seen a few scorpions throughout my house. If found a scorpion in a sleeping bag that we were going to let my older brother borrow. I have found a scorpian near my room and one in my room on the floor. I also found one on the ceiling. Dont try to smash them with a shoe unless the shoe is on your foot. We have thick carpeting and if you dont kill em on the first whack, those bastards are freakin quick... Also had a mouse crawl across my arm a couple months ago... man was i freaked out... i couldnt sleep the rest of the night...

when I had my herp zoo goin on I was breeding rats for them and 2 escaped one night and decided to wake me up.....they soon met the quick end of an albino Burmese......I hate rats...and yet I now have a ferret...I guess cute can go a long way for a rodent huh?

yeah mines not that bad...the trick is to NOT bathe them often....the more you bathe them the more oil they produce.....I do mine about every 4 months.....and just keep a bottle of cologne open in the room and the smell actually stick better....something to do w/ the fact thescent the y secret is one of the base oils in most colognes and perfumes.....not ferrets but like skunks and other animals that have that smell thing goin on.....just keep the bathroom area clean cause their shits STINK...mine is litter trained.....NC are you near Turkey Haven???.....

I never even heard of turkey haven. I am right in the middle of the state. I am about 1 1/2 hours south of Orlando, I'm in Sebring. I'm sure you have heard of the 12 hours of Sebring endurance race.

that's right My brother had just moved from there when you told me that....last year sometime....I just bought some land in Hamillton county in Turkey haven about 3 hours N of you......investment purposes only.....I can't afford a house here so I just got someland near where the developments are happening...

I was doing maintenance on my hot tub last weekend. I pulled off the skirt and wham-o there was a Black Widow. Nice and dark and damp under there with lots of little creatures for it to feed on. Needless to say, I lit 3 bug bombs one after another before I would even get close to it again.

Don't let me or ratzo try to kill it. He'll use a whole can of nitrocleaner as a flamethrower and I'll be the one throwing stuff at it. In the end we'll both be screaming like little girls wiggling and scratching out arms and torsos. Kind of a funny mental picture but true!
