Anyone have a loan from an online place? I'm trying to get a personal loan but am wanting to avoid my local banks.

I've gotten two loans from Sheffield and love them but they are for specific items and not personal loans.

Know anything about the Lending Club?

I've been looking at America 1 too, they seem to have almost perfect feedback...

I'm just the opposite actually, I prefer to support my local bank whenever I can. They're a small private owned bank with like four branches, so they still give a crap about their customers. YMMV though

My local bank is Wellsfargo and they are always pulling crap with me.

How about that attractive native American lady doing the TV ads?
$10,000 loan overnight. Based on an Indian reservation. Only 84 monthly payments of $786.
Do the math and tell me how they get away with it. Obviously if it's 100% native American and based on a reservation, there are no federal laws that can regulate them.

One year of payments will pay them back and the next 6 years are their profits. DANG!

Credit Unions are also a good place to look as well. You might have to open a savings account, but they tend to work with their members as the members actually own it.

I just try to stay away from the high intrest rates. For the big loans it has to be 6% or less and the smaller loads has to be around 10% or less. If I get financing for a product, I will try to use who the store uses because with a little sweet talk you can get an intrest free loan for a year. By then it paid for. Anything higher then 18% you might as well use a credit card.

I do what ever I can to keep my money away from intrest and tranaction fees. My RC habbit consumes enough of it.

I tried the place called American 1, I think their just a place that finds places for you to apply though. Looking at one for 6.7% right now, wich is better than the 11% I'm at now.

my idea is dont do it. i say you should deal with a company that has a actual office that you can drive to and walk in to and set down and talk to someone.

I agree with Moe, but that's because I'm just very leery of doing anything on the Internet with money. I've bought hobby parts and books but will only use my cc after asking lots of questions to visa and them insuring me that I have good buyers protection through them. Also I only trust a handful of people so.

Yeah I fully understand the leery part of it. I've not heard anything back yet anyways.

I got 401k loans all the time. All the interest goes back in your 401k. Some 401k plans won't let you take out a loan unless you can prove some sort of hardship. My 401k at my current job won't let me take out a loan unless I prove hardship. My plan at my last job I could any time for any reason.

Good to know, thanks guys.

Sunzabitches must have gave out my number cuz I've had lots of calls the last few days advertising crap.
