My 5 month old lipo is really puffed in one corner. The cell is dead. Does this mean it died because I slammed my car into a metal pole at 60mph? Or because it's getting blasted with gravel on every run? Or could it be my old cheaper charger? I don't want to kill my new batteries coming in the mail.

well since we dont know the history of your Damaged pack who knows but Id go to guess the 1st scenario is what made this happen..damaged the cell then thru time it went bad.this battery looking that way and you having done as you said makes me know why I run hardcase lipos.

Well, its like this....

#1 Charge it one last time

#2 Take it outside, set up out to 400 yards

#3 Smoke it with a .220 Swift

Don't try to charge it don't try to do anything with it. Get it out of your house as soon as you can. Just one little hole turn the side of it and it will catch fire.

That lipo is trash try to dispose of it asap dont try to charge it I dont know about discharging it.

It possibly could of happen from crashing into the pole like you mentioned.

You can try next time purchasing hard case lipo for a little extra protection.

Maybe someone can chime in here and let you know how to dispose of it or get the remainder juice out of it before throwing it out.
