I can't afford both so I'm wandering whats more important, buying something that is considered quality or better ratings.

I can buy a decent 4-5000 2S 20c pack or a no name brand 2S 40c for around the same price. This pack will be on a vxl system, I want something that puts out enough amps so that everything runs without being strained.

I really dont know about batterys for cars but, i do know from other things that the right formula is Quality over Quantity. Thats how i see it
Hope it helps

Some real cheap ones are POS's for sure, but then again the difference in some of the cheap ones and some of the high priced ones, is simply a label and different shrink wrap. I've said it before but I will keep running Turnigy packs, they are cheap but have awesome performance and I've not had a single one fail me yet BUT I have has so many "name brand" lipos crap out...

+1 on this thought. You get what you pay for. If you're not running the battery in a high current draw situation, such as a brushed crawler, go with the lower C rating.

I guess its all an opinion game. I have ran alot of different packs on a lot of different things, slow and hella fast and from my experience, I've gotten more for my money off cheaper packs like Turnigy's. I'm not going to name any names but I've seen some very experienced electric guys switch to cheaper packs for the same reasons. Brands dont always mean something.

I know i know, i have no experience in this I'm just stating from what i know in common sense. I've heard Integy is cheap but not very good. And I've heard of expensive brands be amazing. But batteries are a different story. If this means anything i belive that my duracells last longer than energizers in my tv remote :hehe:

EDIT: i dont mean common sense, i meant "from what i know by inferring"

to run in what?

Slash 4x4

When I bought my merv it came with two turnigy packs and they were very good to me....thats why I'm considering a cheaper brand, I just want to hear other opinions.

I run Turnigy 3s 5000mah 30c packs in mine and my dads 4wd slash's and they do great. Get about 45 min of run time on average or so. Packs never get warm at all either.

Our Slash is the 2wd version with the VXL and we're running the cheap 20c Turnigy 5000 pack. We're getting 25min+ run times and so far nothing is getting very hot at all.

I see many people running 20c with no problems, the only thing that worries me is that my rigs will be ran in grass 90% of the time and I'm worried that the amp draw will strain a 20c pack....maybe I'm wrong?
