Let's see your bench / toolbox!

1. Where do you work on your machines and what does it look like? Right now? When clean and clear?
2. Where do you keep your tools? In a toolbox on the bench? A drawer? The track bag so they're always handy?

I've been lurking for months, casually posting for a few weeks. Seen lots of cars hung on walls or parked on shelves. Curious how you guys keep things organized.

I've seen some miniature mechanic's toolboxes, but also like the idea of keeping everything in the bag that goes with the machine when it leaves the house. This is how I roll in the Mitsubishi--any tool I use to fix or install something at home goes with me into the field. It's served me well.

Right now, I've got the entire ass-end out of the King Cab and a handful of transmissions taking up my bench, so I've been working on the UDI and Kyosho at the kitchen table or on my desk in the office. I'm getting tired of making trips back and forth looking for tools, ya know?

I built my own bench using a 2x4 frame, which i painted. Then added laminate kitchen counter top and some melamine shelves. Then i fabricated wall mounts to hold most of my cars and trucks. I use an old school plano tool box to hold all my tools, which sits to my right on a storage tote. I slide it out when in use and then under my bench when I'm done.

I had to figure something out where I could study as well..

I switched bedrooms and moved everything to my bedroom last summer so it doesn't only function as a repair bench. When using the right fuel and when cleaned properly I don't have to deal with any exhaust fumes after bashing days
I built the plane closet last Christmas and honestly wish I had made the wooden one just like it..
I like the toolboxes with little boxes in them, they really help order e.g. screws and O-rings.

It's usually a bit cleaner than this. Got three projects going at once.

Where do I wrench? The old couch in the den.
I put a piece of plywood on one side of me for setting things on and my tool box on the other. I wrench in comfort.

I actually have an RC work bench I set up years ago that I use for big projects, but the couch is my primary wrenching spot.
