I just got my MMGT a week ago and properly broke it in. In order to get it to idle and drive well I had to have the low speed needle set at about 1.5 turns out from closed. The manual says that it should be 2 to 2.5 turns out from closed. The high speed I had set rich to about 2.75 tunrs out from closed I did this ti try and compensate for the added heat of having the low speed set lean. Everything was well It was running good and my temps didnt get over 260, from everything I read that seems a little hot for these but within the manuals saftey limits, The manual says dont get over 260 and I was right there. I ran it like that for several tanks with no problems and then the next day I wanted it to run cooler so I tried to richen it up on the low speed and It wouldnt idle. I tried tunring the idle stop screw but it was getting well past 2mm and I didnt want it to be sitting at quarter thottle just to idle. I decided to test for airleaks and noticed that the high speed needle assembly was leaking and fixed that one then I tested everywhere else the back plate, the carb retainer, the carb body where it sits in the engine and they were all sealed. The fuel tank and lines where sealed as well. The only other leak I found was the front crank bearing behind the fly wheele. Is it possible to fix this with out replaceing the bearing and if not how do you get the bearing off. I have replaced piston and sleeves before and rebuilt carbs with new gasket sets, but never a crank bearing. Any advice would be helpful. I would prefer to fix it with sealant if possible since moneys tight now and I probably wont be buying anything if it needs it.
