right...

back after a long break from rc, recently had my rc car in bits to find the problem (rs4-3 rtr) And I still can't fix it...

Basicaly when I launch the pick up is realy slow and crawles like a snail, slowly it gets up to speed and top end seems fine. I thought it was the clutch so disessembled the clutch housing but it all looks fine. The exhaust is cracked so maybe this is affecting the scavenging...or maybe the engine is fubared

Any ideas guys

Is the engine revving well, but the car moves slow?
You say top end is fine, so I think you're dealing with a LSN issue. Lean the LSN 1/16th of a turn, in, and try again. If it acts better, but not great, lean it in a hair more.
If it was already too lean, it would stall on takeoff, that's why I'm thinking the LSN is too rich right now.

if that isnt the issue make sure your not stuck in second gear if your running a 2 speed ,,it will be very snail like from start then pick up as it gains rpm,,
just my .02

True, stuck in 2nd is also a possibility. If that's the case, the clutch will slip a lot, and soon get so hot that it won't grab at all. If that happens, you can be pretty sure that it's stuck in 2nd gear. It will need to completely cool down before you can drive it again.
Once it takes off, either by driving it slowly and picking up speed, or hitting WOT, listen to it. You should be able to hear the shift. If you're not sure, do it several times. If you don't hear it, you know that's the problem.
