Hobby Hut was the dash for cash track. They are down by Philly, your wives/girlfriend would like to go just to shop at the hugr King of Prussia mall! November sounds good to me as well, really a "last of the season" type thing.

well I'm sure we could use the hobby hut track too, however there are drawbacks.

1. its extremely dusty.
2. without the owner being there, there is no equipment to clean and water the track to cut down on that dust.
3. it is a difficult track, unless you've been racing buggies for a while, you WILL have trouble with it, and 1/10ths are pretty much out of the question, its just too rough.
4. no onsite hobby shop.

ill ask jim about maybe a sunday, but I'm not sure how that would go over. iirc, the shop is closed on sundays too, so no support if you break something. i belive there is no running on sundays due to noise ordinances but ill check to make sure. the track does have people that live next door, not like 50' away but about 150' so they would have to listen to us all day on a sunday. ill also ask if there are any planned sat's that racing isnt occuring.

It's ok if there is no hobby store open. I'm used to that whenI race on sundays. I always bring everything I'll need in case I break. Well, I think I do. So far, so good (knock on wood). If it's a noise ordinance thing, then that might be a problem, even without the r/c's running. There's usually only 5 of us at an event when we race and we're louder than the 1/8 onroads whizzing by only 20' away from our pit tables!

Honestly though, there doesn't need to be any onsite shop or a lapcounting system on. Just water for the track. Doesn't even need to be electricity. TJ said he has a generator bu honsetly, the only thing I need electricity for is to charge my receiver pack and I have the aligator clips to do that with the car.

Granted as of now, I have yet to run my buggy on a track with anything more than a bump in the road but I'm sure by then I'll be fine. Got lots of races to attend so the learning curve will be high and costly. Hopefully by then I'll be proficient (at most). I just want to have a good time with "the guys" while running the r/c's.

Hey, any "clubs" near by? JUST IN CASE we get a wild hair up our butts and decide to make a night of it.

well I'm not a "club" guy, never have been. but you guys are more than welcome to check out "als diamond cabaret" (combine and make it a link since ill get yelled at for it) its supposed to be one of the best on the east coast with well known "stars" doing shows often. about 35 minutes from lancaster.

i was just pointing out what i felt were faults with the track. we can always do pit stop on sat, and hobby hut on sunday if you guys want. perhaps you should put up a poll and have guys vote on where they want to run and when. from there i can pursue making arrangements with owners, and getting hotel lists together.

See what the owner says about sunday runs first, then we can start making decisions

I would say Pit Stop would be ideal, UNLESS you all have to do this on a Sunday b/c of conflicts. It is a nice track, smaller, but that just means you need less pitbitches to flip you back shiny side up! That and having the H2O onsite is a BIG +.

If we were to plan something during the racing season, approximately, how many people would you say there are racing on any given Saturday? Does it get real crowded? PitStop definately sounds like the better venue, just wish we could do a bash sooner than Halloween...

I don't mind doing a race. We can do a regular club race then bash somehwere n sunday, right? Holloween is a little late for a lot of the guys. Get's cold and dark very early in he day.

a regular raceday sees just enough guys to fill 1 heat of every class. MT, gas truck, novice, 1/8 buggy, mod buggy. if you guys want to race on sat, then bash somewhere on a sunday that would work fine. there are plenty of places to bash, theres always construction going on somewhere.

if thats what you guys want to do, put some dates up for vote, and then ill take care of things on this end when we have a day picked out.
