Just purchased this RC Truck for my son. I have charged the batteries and gone through the manual. I cannot get the controller to connect or have connect to the truck, there is no response. I have tried everything in the manual but have been unsuccessful, I assume it’s my lack of knowledge. When the truck turns on the light on speed controller is flashing red and the transmitter is solid red. I have tried to reach out to supplier and Kyosho America but haven’t been able to get in touch with anyone. Any help on troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to RCT

Does the Transmtter have a knob for throttle trim? If so make sure it is at zero (usually centered) when you turn it on. Does steering work when you have it on? If not it sounds like the receiver and transmitter need to be bound. Is there a 'binding' procedure in the manual for that?

Welcome to the site. What battery chemistry are you running and what battery chemistry is the esc set to?
My next question, is the wires to the reciever in the right location and direction?
Last question, how does the reviever wire look? Any cuts or fraying or spots it's flat or been damaged?

I suggest what was mentioned above, re-bind and re-calibrate.
Not sure how close your transmitter is to the receiver when you bind
but keep it as far away as you can when you bind. Usually a full arms length is good.

Oh yeah, welcome in. :)

I was going to suggest what 9x19 said. Never move your throttle trim from zero. That's more used for nitro RC's. If it's not at zero, the receiver will go into failsafe. If not for that failsafe, your RC would take off on you as soon as you turn everything on.

If that's not it, get us a pic of your receiver. We need to see the cables going into it and the colors of the wires, so we can make sure you have them plugged in correctly.

Once all of that is squared away, we can go from there.

Guys thanks for the responses.

I’ve tried going through binding process several times. Still no luck, can’t even get the steering to work.

The batteries are (2) admiral 5300 mAh 2s 7.4v. Not sure about what esc is set too.

This is brand new out of the box, I’ve charged the batteries plugged them in and have had no luck.. the light on esc has flashed red the entire time…

Will upload pics, thanks again guys!

Your servo and esc cables are backwards. The white wire is signal.

S = Signal (white)
+ = Positive (red)
- = Ground (black)

Fix that, then rebind your radio, just to make sure.

After that, you need to calibrate the ESC per your manual's instructions.

After that is fixed and working properly, you will want to check your servo endpoint adjustment. Very important! I am going to assume on that radio you do it with the steering Dual Rate knob. The procedure is likely not in your manual. You might be able to find a YouTube video on how to do it with your radio transmitter. If not, try this...

1. Center your steering with the steering trim.
2. Turn the dual rate knob down (about 6 o-clock position)
3. Turn and hold your steering wheel full right.
4. Adjust the steering rate knob up until you see your steering stops moving.
5. Back off the dual rate knob until you feel there is a tiny bit of slack in the steering linkage.
6. Turn your steering full left and hold.
7. Adjust the dual rate knob again until you just hsve slack in the steering linkage.
8. Check both right turn and left and verify there is still slack in linkage.

Doing this will keep you from burning up your servo.

Yes, the white wire on your leads should be on the inside of the receiver (signal), you show them both to the outside!

Also make sure, steering is in channel 1, and throttle is in channel 2.

Not touching this.I will add if you want your Rc to make a sharper turn..The front hubs have limiters on then A added piece of plastic .you will need to use a dremel tool cutoff wheel and take that tab down so it is flush with hub

We have got it working! It was backwards… thank all you guys for the help. Again thank you all very much! Much appreciated
