i am thinking about getting one of these. please leave some pros and cons and things i will need to do to make it run good. i will be using it for bashing and club racing. also will all kanai parts fit on this buggy? leave some here. Thanks

Any flavor of the Kanai is a stable platform to build upon. In my opinion the 7.5 Sports is a very cheap version. There are alot of parts that would need to be upgraded to be race worthy. Here are the first few upgrades I would suggest:

--Steel Spur gear 46t
--13t Clutch bell
--Kanai II 3.5 shocks all around with 35wt in front and 40st in rear
--long White hard springs
--Any good quality tires with foam
--Alum Front and rear stabilizer bars (not sway bars)
--new servos
--Front universals
--TI adjustable tie rods all around
--TI suspension shafts (rods that connect the arms to the chassis)
--Alumimun radio posts

Allright.. the shocks on the sports version are very weak.. like robriguez said..

Spur gear needed...
shocks, i use 3.0, cuz they are lighter
alum radio post.. not needed
universals all the way around
Kanai Blue springs
new servos
better shock towers
bevel gear in the diff housing. and ring gear are aluminum.. need steel

Also.. if you ever dump the RTr motor in that thing.. you may need to get a new 3 shoe clutch.. springs.. and flywheel clutchbell and bearings.

It seems like with all the cash you have to put out to make that a good buggy it'd be cheaper to just start out with a better buggy.
I don't have one of these, so I don't know. For those that have one, do you agree?

Everything I've posted is what I've done so far to my Sport. As many of you know I'm very impatient and when I went to the LHS looking for the 7.5 kit i was told it would have to be ordered. Well since I had the cash burning a hole in my pocket i decided to get what he had in stock which was only the Sport. $500 later I've learned that had I more patience I could have had a K2 with a nice engine and pipe.

The "Sports" version of any RC car/truck/kit/part is always the cheaper, less quality, less durable version. Since getting back into RC a little over a year ago I have learned (well my Wallet has learned) that there are no shortcuts to good quality. This is especially true if you plan on racing.

1/8 scale anything is expensive. Save up a bit more, be patient, research and in the end you will be much much happier.
