Hi does anybody know anywhere where the people builds the kits that you bought already.

I really want to know because i have a r40 that i just got for Christmas and i am just dying to build it.

I am wondering if the local hobby stores actually build it for you

Alex, some hobby stores will build it for you but for a price, of course. My suggestion for you is to just build it yourself. It's not that hard to build one. I personally haven't built an R40 but one thing for sure is that if you follow the directions, it shouldn't be that hard. ALSO, it will be easier for you to repair anything that needs fixing since you are already familiar with the car.I think the hardest part of building the kit is the differentials. Once you have that done, everything else will fall into place.

My first kit was the NTC3. Took me about 13 hours to build (divided over 3 evenings). It was my first kit, actually my first nitro. I took it as a learning experience and at least I can say that I built it.

Build it and run it till it breaks. It'll be easy to fix since you built it! Tuning it is different. That takes a little finesse and practice but that's what the board is for. Just ask.

Remember ... run, brek, fix ... run, break, fix ... it's an endless cycle.

Diver6127 said it all.

Take your time and build the kit. If it takes you a week or a month to build it you will be rewarded ten fold. When your done you can just sit there and look at it for hours on end thinking "I did this". When you brake it you can sit there and say the same thing and also know its no big deal to fix it.

Take your time and have fun.

Break out the cupcake tin, & build it yourself.... You'll bring yourself right out of the NEWBIE category in no time.... If ya have a problem, thats what RCNT is here for....

My first real R/C was a kit(Rs4 3 Type SS) and it wasn't hard to build at all.It took about 12 hours straight to build and setup the car but because I built it myself I can fix it with no problems.I can tear it apart, clean it, and put it all back together in about 3 hours now.HPI instructions are excellent in their kits and they explain everything very clear.Just take your time and do it right the first time and you won't have any problems.

My wife almost KILLED me when I used her cup cake tins. Save yourself the greif ... go buy the aluminum ones from the grocery OR you can use the paper cupcake liners and tape it to the table to keep it from blowing off the table when you give a big sigh of relief when you get through one part OR sigh out of frustration! Trust me, I did it. One other tip, go buy some white oak tag and use it to line the table or work surface you're using. You'll see the parts a lot easier.
